Welcome to my official top 100 songs of 2016! As per last year based solely on my weekly charts where 40 points are given to the #1 track that week all the way down to 1 point for #40. This list stretches back to late November last year so there may be some carryover for 2015 songs.

A grand total of 340 songs charted at some point this year & this thread will count down the top 100 of those.

The rules remain the same as previously, for songs that are equal on points the positions are decided by:

1) chart peak

2) weeks on chart

3) weeks at peak

As far as I know there shouldn't be a need to look any further than that.

A few teasers:

* The cut-off this year was 148 points, as opposed to 154 last year

* The most appearances by one group/artist is 5

* Only 5 songs broke the 500-point barrier

* Only 4 songs amassed 20+ weeks on the Chart

* The winning song finished over 100 points ahead

Any comments more than welcome!

First off these were the unlucky 5 songs to just miss out this year:

101. Vato Gonzalez (feat. Doctor) - 2 Step

Chart run: 25-12-8-14-20-19 {6 weeks}

102. Justin Bieber (feat. Skrillex) - Children

Total points: 147

Chart run: 24-20-26-22-13-19-20-37 {8 weeks}

103. Volbeat - The Devil's Bleeding Crown

Total points: 146

Chart run: 34-9-7-12-34-37-X-32-25-35-39 {10 weeks}

104. Shift K3Y (feat. BB Diamond) - Gone Missing

Hype :dance: your chart usually has lots of goods.

poor Shift K3Y missing out here. He's not in my top 100 either though.

I'm sure there'll be a decent amount of crossover between our charts again!

Indeed, it spent more weeks than a good number of songs that actually made this list tho.

Right then, no time like the present...

100. Cheat Codes & Kris Kross Amsterdam - Sex

Total points: 148

Chart run: 27-8-11-13-21-28-36-36 {8 weeks}

Well... what a track to kick things off. This dance cover of Salt-n-Pepa's 'Let's Talk About Sex' managed a solitary week top 10 officially & it does so here too, albeit a place higher. Cheat Codes also have 'Let Me Hold You (Turn Me On)' still to come but that's all from Kris Kross!

Since getting into Let Me Hold You, I've tried to give Sex a few more spins but it's still not doing it for me :( hoping the former is nice and high though!!

99. Dominica - Gotta Let You Go

Total points: 152

Chart run: 11-5-9-21-20-28 {6 weeks}

A track originally from the mid-90s but sounding just as fresh in this 2016 re-edit. Not a bad accompanying video either!

Sex :dance: big choon to start the top 100, should be higher in my chart yet it didn't even make my own weekly top ten.

It's not something I would go out of my way to play now actually, did love it for a bit but got old pretty quickly hence the fast fall. Let Me Hold You is leagues better as will be reflected here!

That crucial week top 10 scraping it a placing here!!

98. Shaun Frank (feat. Ashe) - Let You Get Away

Total points: 154

Chart run: 17-12-10-16-17-20- {6 weeks}

Canadian DJ Shaun Frank earned his first ever hit with Let You Get Away. Finally enlisting an alternative vocalist to Delaney Jane, this track is still currently charting & has spent its whole run so far in the top half.

97. Blonde & Craig David - Nothing Like This

Total points: 156

Chart run: 16-17-7-12-23-27-29 {7 weeks}

The first appearance of Craig David who, most unsurprisingly, is that aforementioned artist with 5 total appearances on this list. Blonde meanwhile only charted with this song as lead act but are still in the running as a feature on a later song.

Nothing Like This is one of my favourite songs of the year, had it on repeat for ages. :wub: Shame Gone Missing missed out as that's a strong tune.
Not heard that Shaun Frank song actually but I loved his songs 'Shades Of Grey' and 'Heaven' from last year.

I was loving it myself for a short while but ended up preferring most of his other hits this year! Probably does deserve to be higher tho.

Heaven was good actually surprised I didn't chart that looking back. This new one is great tho it's got a similar production to Hailee Steinfeld's Starving but a bit more aggressive.

96. Nora En Pure (feat. Dani Senior) - Tell My Heart

Total points: 156

Chart run: 3-1-2-2- {4 weeks}

A song that's only been out for just over a month yet has had such an instant impact it makes the Year-End 100, the most recently-released song to do so! This is Nora En Pure's first hit & it's quite the benchmark for her to set, expect this to be much, much higher in next year's rundown.

Thanks Pete! Next up we have...

95. PaperClap (feat. Alicia-Awa) - Summertime

Total points: 159

Chart run: 3-5-8-13-27-33-39 {7 weeks}

A not too common example of a song debuting in the top 3, this tropical house number has very strong similarities with Jonas Blue's 'Fast Car' and sang almost entirely in German.

94. Lost Kings (feat. Katelyn Tarver) - You

Total points: 162

Chart run: 26-21-16-19-20-18-14-32 {8 weeks}

The first song to appear that didn't make the top 10, American duo Lost Kings had a strong start to the year with both this & another song, 'Bad' charting simultaneously. That track will appear a fair bit further up the countdown.

93. Nicky Jam & Enrique Iglesias - El Perdón

Total points: 163

Chart run: -12-13-11-13-21-28-30-40-38 {9 weeks}

The first carryover from last year, remarkably making 2 EOY lists (there are only a handful of other songs that achieve this) is this Latin Pop song, one of the most successful songs of Enrique's vast back catalogue. It peaked at #1 on this Chart last year.
