What on earth has happened with The Weeknd :blink: last album went #1 I thought he'd have even bigger hype this time particularly with the success of Starboy (the single), have I missed something?

I just don't think the younger generation are interested in purchasing albums - see Bruno Mars and The Weeknd underperforming and the likes of Elvis Presley and Alfie Boe doing well.

I do find it very surprising that The Weeknd's is at #5, considering how well it's doing in the singles chart.

 

I'm still hoping Kate Bush can hold on but that's looking very unlikely.

Michael Ball and Alfie Boe on track to take the lead at just the right time by the looks of things, looks like no1 this week as they are the most consistent sellers and then the FG special on the 9th. Although it would be interesting to see the comprehensive list of support planned - I'm sure LM will be all over the Tv in the next month!

I think that comment is very debtable in relation to Kylie.

 

Poor start for Busted, Susan Boyle and Rumer in the album chart, i think all will end up dropping through the week and i predict number 11 for Busted, 21 for Susan Boyle and 31 for Rumer.

 

Little Mix are holding up wonderfully well on their 2nd week considering their excellent sales sales last.

ITV special is not until 9th December, it won't influence next week's chart.

This is a re-release of a Christmas album that was only released last year that didn't really set the world on fire in the first place. Were you expecting it to hit #1?

I don't think it's a particularly poor start for Busted. At least, if you'd told me a couple of years ago that Busted would have a Top 20 album in November 2016 I wouldn't have believed you.

That's because the older generation have been collecting records for many years and have collections which they wish to add to. I am one of them and do not wish to download or stream. I have not bought a single for many years. Each to their own.
