41. Matoma & Becky Hill – False Alarm [26-13-7-5-3-6-10-13-16-25-32] (11 Weeks)

DNCE – Cake By The Ocean: "Joe Jonas and his band DNCE have a great first hit in my chart with 'Cake By The Ocean' the infectious pop song is full of fun and mischief. It just about gets in my top 50 at 50 and it peaked at 4 in my chart".

Emeli Sandé – Hurts: "This only had a short run due to many new entries going into my chart recently but this has to be one of Emeli's best singles as its so well done, the claps, the lyrics, the production all works well with each other".

MØ – Final Song: "Following on from the underrated 'Kamikaze' Danish popstar MØ returned in her own solo efforts with a bang with the great pop song 'Final Song'. I think my favourite part of the song is the production which was produced by MNEK".

Dua Lipa – Hotter Than Hell: "Dua Lipa is an artist I have been loving and have loved seen watching her grow over the past year. Her third single 'Hotter Than Hell' showcased her full potential. Pretty great pop song with great production. Ill gloss over the way she says Hell  ".

twenty one pilots – Stressed Out: "As mentioned in my top three bands twenty one pilots have been my favourite band and this was their first hit in my chart peaking at #10. My favourite part is the chorus its a surprising earworm".

Clean Bandit ft Louisa Johnson – Tears: Clean Bandit returned after 2015 song 'Stronger' and they returned with X-Factor winner Louisa Johnson and wow the vocals on this song are incredible. Not only that the video is good too not amazing though ".

Olly Murs – You Don’t Know Love: 'This was a new direction for Olly. It sounds as if he was inspired by 'Run Away With Me' as that sound is a lot like this song. One Of Olly's best I absolutely love it now".

twenty one pilots – Ride: "My pick for this section. This was my favourite twenty one pilots till Lane Boy was released as a single (that may or may not be still to come :o) any way this reggae rock fusion sound that they have made is very unique".

Anne-Marie – Alarm: "One of the most catchiest chorus released this year. I took a while to properly grow on me but once it hit me it was a bop".

Matoma & Becky Hill – False Alarm: "Yet again Becky Hills voice shines on this dance music. The production is amazing too. Both showcased there sound well and showed me why they gel together so well".

It does sound amazing from what I have heard too

Thanks for the comment Joseph!

Tears is the jam of life we always needed *.*

Hello Harry!!

I sort of forget how much I enjoy CBTO until I hear it on the radio nowadays, I liked it for quite a while but it did begin to suffer from overplay and now I'm fully enjoying it again. It's so much fun and one of the best examples of pure pop fun. Nick is still the best Jonas Brother tho (and hawtest)

It seems crazy how big a chart hit Alarm was in hindsight, I was hoping it would do well for ages because it was so catchy but it just seemed to hang around forever which is of course a great thing. Rockabye is getting a lil old now though so I'm ready for her next solo track, hope she has a big 2017!!

:D

Hi Josh!

36. Tove Lo – Cool Girl [3-2-3-4-9-13-15-20-23-32-35] (11 Weeks)

35. Alan Walker – Faded [38-31-34-28-19-11-5-6-11-15-20-24-34-39] (14 Weeks)

34. Florence + The Machine - Delilah [22-7-6-1-1-2-4-6-8-12-14-18-25-36] (14 Weeks)

33. Tame Impala – Let It Happen [2-2-2-3-3-5-7-10-12-16-21-25-32-35-35] (14 Weeks)

32. Foxes – Cruel [35-27-13-6-3-3-6-11-14-20-22-26-38] (13 Weeks)

31. Blonde & Craig David - Nothing Like This [12-5-3-2-2-4-8-11-14-18-22-30-39] (13 Weeks)

Izzy Bizu - White Tiger: "Starting of the top 40 is a singer I discovered back in 2014 with her song 'Fool's Gold' and this song on the 'Coolbeanz' EP. It was re-released as a single in 2015 but was later re-released again in 2016 to support her album. It is such a summer song for me the production just spells summer. I wish it was a hit and just one of the underrated songs of the year for me :(".

Little Mix Featuring Jason Derulo - Secret Love Song: "Little Mix's only song in my top 40 goes to their third single of their 2015 third album 'Get Weird'. The ballad has to be one of the best girlband ballads of the recent years. The softness in the chorus and the powerful in that middle 8 just grips you to the song and makes you believe every word they sing. I even love the fact that Derulo is on it tbh and even if you dont like him on it they do have a part II of the song which is even more emotional".

Craig David featuring Big Nartise - When The Bassline Drops: "2016's comeback king is Craig David and what a way to start the year of the ledgend with this tune. I even love the Big Narstie's parts and especially the 'All Over Your Oooh's' parts'. I have to say this isnt even his best song of the year as one more is still to come '.

Banks - Gemini Feed: 'Out of nowhere did Banks come back and slay me. The song is not her best but it did last quite a while in my chart as it did the rare thing of going down and then going up due to it growing on me another hit does that in this section too'.

Tove Lo - Cool Girl: 'Tove Lo managed to get her 5th top 10 single the late 2016 with 'Cool Girl' this to me is very swaggy as the chorus is almost trippy and the lyrics are so catchy I am shocked this did not become a hit because it so should have done :nono: Added to the list of underrated songs of the year tbh'.

Alan Walker - Faded: 'Here is the other song that did a rare fall before climbing back up the chart due to a random growth. This is such a unique dance song in terms of production it stands out among the crowd than most of the dance songs of the year".

Florence + The Machine - Delilah: "This was the first number one of the year and was the last single from Florence's album 'How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful' and it is probaly my third fave from that era of hers. Such a well made song because it builds into such a crazy song from the start it feels very slow and builds and builds which is what Florence is best known for I would say'.

Tame Impala - Let It Happen: "Not as good as Cause In A Man and the radio edit doesnt do the full song justice but the fulll song is incredible as far as 7 minute longs go it is epic to say the least".

Foxes - Cruel: "My pick for this section my favourite underrated pop song of the year WHY WASN'T THIS A HIT  Sounds such huge pop tune and yet it did nothing chart wise. I am so annoyed at how the campaign of the last album went should have gone either Body Talk then this or Cruel then Body Talk. Instead we got 'Better Love' and 'Amazing which were good but they was not amazing and do not show Foxes to her full best".

Blonde & Craig David - Nothing Like This: 'The second and final appearance of Craig David was in the form of colobaration with Blonde I would not say this is either of their best of there whole entire songs but for what it is worth it is a banger. Some would argue that this is Blondes worst but no that is Feel Good (which was still good too)".

Hi UV,

Glad you all like them all fabulous in their own right

Tears has been re-growing on me slightly too!

Thanks for the comment :D

I don't think I noticed the reggae influences in "Ride" until you pointed it out! :P

Hi CODEH im usual for something :P

Cake By The Ocean is a massive fun.

Hurts is the best Emeli song of all time for me.

Final Song was good for a bit but I got bored of it quickly.

Hotter Than Hell & You Don't Know Love are both good but the artists have done better.

Hi Lewis,

Glad you like Cake By The Ocean it is a massive pile of fun

I think for me Emeli's best is till My Kind Of Love

They both have better Imo about Olly and Dua and shame Final song got bored easily for you :(

:hi: There Joseph again,

Glad you like all of them I do think the SLS would easily sit in my LM top 10

Hiya Harry

As you say, Cruel really should've been a hit. In fact, most of the tracks of her most recent album were fantastic tracks and all deserved way more success than they received. I hope this isn't the last we here of her because she produces great lil pop tracks :wub

I actually prefer Let It Happen to Cause I'm a Man, the latter is nice but the former is far more exciting imo and it's quite a little bop. I prefer the epic 7 minute version of course too though :D

ooh some goodies in the list so far, Harry, liking the range, Banks, Tame Impala, Alan Walker, Dua Lipa, Florence, Emeli, DNCE etc...

Secret Love Song - One of the best choruses of the year I think. Really like this but it's been overshadowed by their other hits this year.

When The Bassline Drops - Easily Craig David's best since his comeback I think. Wish he released more like this.

Nothing Like This - This was decent but his whole album was too dancey and this was the start of that. :(

Cool Girl, White Tiger and Faded are all brilliant tracks, good to see them in your latest batch
