In anticipation of 2016 finishing I would like to present my top lists of everything and everyone important from.. 2015? Well the thing is I never posted any of this back then and since I don't feel like I can fully grasp the lasting effect of 2016 songs, TV shows, albums and movies until a few months of 2017 have passed (think maybe March 2017 or so) I felt what better way to say goodbye to this year than to review the one before that lmao.

I will be counting down my Top 200 Songs, and I may add my Top 50 Albums, Top 50 Movies, Top 50 TV Shows and Top 50 Artists in this thread as well if I see myself fit to do so. Do note that in the song department there may be a few songs that you might consider to either belong to 2014 or 2016 but this is just personal opinion and in some cases I have found songs too late or too early to coincide with charts lol. Most of the songs appearing on this list will be songs that were released as singles, but a couple of album tracks managed to sneak into the Top 200. The first 100 songs will be covered rather quickly in batches of 10 but I will go into a little more detail with my Top 100 with each song getting their own post. The other charts will be covered much more quickly with probably one post for 50-11 and then another post for the Top 10.

Before we start off I think it's best to cover which songs graced my number one spot in 2015..

03/01/2015 - 10/01/2015 | Ariana Grande ft. The Weeknd – "Love Me Harder" (2 weeks in 2015, 7 weeks in total)

17/01/2015 - 31/01/2015 | Kygo ft. Conrad Sewell – "Firestone" (3 weeks)

07/02/2015 - 28/02/2015 | Ellie Goulding – "Love Me Like You Do" (4 weeks)

07/03/2015 - 04/04/2015 | Years & Years – "King" (5 weeks)

11/04/2015 - 18/04/2015 | Major Lazer ft. MØ & DJ Snake – "Lean On" (2 weeks)

25/04/2015 - 13/06/2015 | Medina – "Når Intet Er Godt Nok" (8 weeks)

20/06/2015 - 20/06/2015 | Adam Lambert – "Ghost Town" (1 week)

27/06/2015 - 11/07/2015 | Years & Years – "Shine" (3 weeks)

18/07/2015 - 22/08/2015 | Zara Larsson – "Lush Life" (6 weeks)

29/08/2015 - 29/08/2015 | Pia Mia ft. Chris Brown & Tyga – "Do It Again" (1 week)

05/09/2015 - 17/10/2015 | Carly Rae Jepsen – "Run Away With Me" (7 weeks)

24/10/2015 - 24/10/2015 | Disclosure ft. Lorde – "Magnets" (1 week)

31/10/2015 - 21/11/2015 | Justin Bieber – "Sorry" (4 weeks)

28/11/2015 - 19/12/2015 | Ellie Goulding – "Something In The Way You Move" (4 weeks)

26/12/2015 - 26/12/2015 | Alan Walker – "Faded" (1 week in 2015, 2 weeks in total)

(Do note that "Love Me Harder" will not feature on this countdown as it will be listed on the 2014 countdown instead while "Faded" will feature on the 2016 countdown.)

There we have my list of number ones for this year. It's mostly pop and edm (or exclusively those two more like it lol) but there's some r&b influences here and there. My three longest runners (excluding Ariana's 2014 stint) are all female pop singers that I absolutely love: danish Medina for 8 weeks, canadian Carly Rae Jepsen for 7 weeks and swedish Zara Larsson for 6 weeks. Every single number one (excluding Ariana & Alan) will feature in my Top 100 and all of them are songs I still listen to a lot and have a hard time tiring of. Which one is my absolute fave? You'll have to follow the countdown to find that one out.

Tbh if you hadn't told me that 2015 was last year, i would probably have assumed it was this year's EOY even if it said 2015 in the title

Anyway, love Lush Life :music: I always forget how long it was around before it actually charted in the UK. Shine is great as well!

Before I start the Top 200, here are the 25 bubbling under songs that failed to meet the standards required to get into the countdown.

XXXXX223 28 Florence + The Machine – "Queen Of Peace"

XXXXX224 23 5 Seconds Of Summer – "Hey Everybody"

XXXXX225 20 Of Monsters & Men – "Crystals"

I still love most of these songs but I just love the songs at the top more. We have my lowest ranking Top 10 song in the form of Latvia's Eurovision entry which I indeed loved seeing performed live but I wasn't quite as keen on listening to it afterwards for some reason. Most of these artists are making their only and final visit here, including (regrettably) two of my all time favorite artists Marina & The Diamonds and Florence + The Machine (they will be appearing on the albums charts though, don't worry). As for the artists that we will be seeing again we have Of Monsters and Men, Kelly Clarkson, Sam Smith, Fetty Wap, Jessie J, Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, Jessie Ware, Jeremih and Charlie Puth each showing up once; Bebe Rexha, Major Lazer and Meghan Trainor will each have two appearances; Ellie Goulding has three songs on the chart; and finally Chris Brown has nine (!!) entries on the chart which actually comes as a shock to me just as I'm writing this down because I had no idea I loved so many of his songs last year, though most of these songs are thanks to his rent-a-rapper tendencies and hardly any of the songs are his own (only 2 to be exact).

I'll be posting the first 10 tonight or tomorrow.

'679' and 'Queen of Peace' were huge faves of mine last year. I'll keep an eye on this countdown, especially after seeing those #1s ('Ghost Town').

Yeah I had been banging out to it for about 6 months when it finally smashed in the UK. Still not even remotely tired of it! Shine is such a tune <3

Yeah I was more of a fan of Florence's album as a whole rather than the individual songs. Fetty Wap was a great newcomer!

Oooo, a 2015 list is not what I expected when I popped in here today

A few great tracks bubbling under there, the likes of Flashlight, Delilah and Crystals all made my top 100 last year. My favourite on that list is probably 679 though! Trap Queen was just the beginning but I never realised Fetty Wap would be able to release something even more catchy! It's hardly the pinnacle of great music but it is a lot of fun, think it made my top 20 last year

Let me just begin by confessing that this Top 200 was HARD to rank. I love each and every one of these songs, but some songs I obviously have to love more than others and therefore we have the bottom 10. I will talk about my songs separately and include data such as their Peak date on both my personal chart and my hypothetical impressions chart – which is what I would imagine to be the result if the people around me would compile together a chart based on what they like and don't like. I also include fake sales which are mainly just for fun lol.

200 | "Call You Home" by Kelvin Jones vs. Faul & Wad Ad

Starting us off is a song I kind of just bumped into by accident on Spotify during one of my semi-regular song hunting sessions. I've never actually listened to the original but it's the Faul & Wad Ad Remix that owns my heart completely. That's the same duo that made 'Changes' two years ago (another masterpiece). This is a tropical house song which I'm sure a lot of you are way past being bored of but to me it all still feels so fresh and amazing. This is the only time all artists involved will appear in my Top 200.

199 | "Leave a Trace" by CHVRCHES

Next up is a single off one of the best albums of 2015 – 'Every Open Eye'. It's the kind of typical quirky-pop that the scottish band releases but just as with all of their songs it's deliciously infectious. The song isn't necessarily something I put on regularly but everytime it came on it made me feel very happy inside. It's unfortunately the first of only two entries in the Top 200 as the other three singles placed at No. 235, No. 252 and No. 264. I'll reveal which songs that are later when their highest placing single shows up.

198 | "Old Thing Back" by Matoma ft. Notorious BIG, Ja Rule & Ralph Tresvant

Here comes the first entry on my list that is following a trend that has become very popular these days: take an old 90s or early 00s R&B song, add some tropical house beats and BAM you've got a hit! Honestly this is a trend that I can definitely get behind lol. I remember listening to it while I was on a trip around Europe last summer and it was such a banger to dance to at the club. Matoma had a good year on my chart, managing to sneak four songs into my Top 40 and three of those into my year-end Top 200. 2016 proved that he was definitely no one trick pony as he's graced my Top 40 three times this year too, and all of them are likely to reach the next Year-End Top 200. The rest of the bunch featured on this song only have this single appearance on the countdown.

197 | "Chains" by Nick Jonas

Somehow around 2014 the youngest Jonas brother suddenly emerged from the shadows all grown up and god damn sexy to boot. This was his debut single if I recall correctly but for me it didn't really gain any traction until after 'Jealous' had its' time. 'Chains' is sexy and cool and everything between. It was the second of four hits for Nick in 2015 in my chart and I'm happy to report that all of his songs managed to place in my year-end Top 200 so look forward to three more Nick Jonas hits here.

196 | "Devil" by Cash Cash ft. Busta Rhymes, Neon Hitch & B.o.B

First of all, how random is this group of ragtag misfits? Lmao. We have EDM-pop group Cash Cash, rent-a-rapper Busta Rhymes, underrated flop goddess Neon Hitch and Mr. "I think the earth is flat" B.o.B. This is actually a really good song and this mess somehow makes complete sense. Neon Hitch's voice is of course the saving grace and brings in the awesome hook and it's just all really great. Needless to say this is the sole entry for each and every one of these artists and I honestly can't even remember how I stumbled onto this gem.

195 | "Hey Mama" by David Guetta ft. Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha & Afrojack

Yet another song with a bunch of featured artists – this really seems to be the trend these days lol. I think David Guetta has had at least one song in my Top 200 every year since maybe 2006 and this year is no different (although both his 2014 and 2016 entries will blow this year's crop out of the water). 'Hey Mama' is an electro house BANGER and it's got all of the important players here: We've got rapper queen extraordinaire Nicki Minaj, upcoming pop princess Bebe Rexha, and Afrojack who has been a staple in EDM in the past couple of years. Guetta, Bebe and Nicki all have two entries on the countdown but Afrojack only has this one.

194 | "Í Síðasta Skipti" by Friðrik Dór

The runner-up in the icelandic Eurovision pre-selection was definitely the fan favorite in Iceland and it was interesting to see that he still got way more airplay than the eventual winner. This also translated to me and my group of friends as we easily preferred this to María Ólafs (No. 298). The song sounds like something Ed Sheeran could have written and is, of course, a love song. The song grew old rather quickly in my case though, which is why it places at No. 194 – second lowest of all Top 10 entries for the year. This is Friðrik's only entry in my Top 200 this year, but he's had a couple of them in the past which you'll see when I go over the next couple of years.

193 | "Talking About" by Conor Maynard

Where in the world is Conor Maynard now? He had such an amazing debut year in 2012 and even had some follow-up hits in the year after but then hear nothing from the man until suddenly he released this banger last year. 'Talking About' is just why I love his music because it's got an amazing groove and his slick vocals make you just really want to dance when you hear it. The song was a bit of a sleeper hit for me since it never actually reached the Top 20 on my chart but it spent a while in my Top 100 nonetheless. Conor does unfortunately not show up again on this countdown though.

192 | "Yeah Yeah Yeah" by Jax Jones

Now, while Conor never managed to peak in the Top 20 Jax Jones never actually got to the Top 30 even, stalling at No. 31 in August of last year. The song is probably the biggest sleeper hit on this countdown since it's the lowest peaking song in the entire Top 200. I remember hearing this song after I just moved to Reykjavik and it used to pop up on shuffle all the time but I never really felt the need to skip it because it's such a fun song. The beat is super cool and it just leaves you with this want to go out and party lol. Jax Jones you might recognize from Duke Dumont's 2014 jam 'I Got U', but this is his only entry on my countdown for this year.

191 | "Another Lonely Night" by Adam Lambert

The final song in this batch is one of two Lambert entries on this chart but I can assure you it's gonna be a while 'til the next one pops up (it was after all a number one for me in June). This song is actually one that I think I would have skipped completely if it wasn't for the fact that my best friend absolutely LOVED it and I kind of contracted the same bug for the song, and thankfully because it's a great song. Adam Lambert is definitely one of the most underrated male singers we got out there as he continually makes banger after banger but gets barely way too little attention.

Hi Jaf!

Totally agree with what you said about Leave a Trace just making you feel quite happy, it had the same effect on me and ended up being their best single for me last era although of course nothing touched the brilliance of The Mother We Share, Lies or Gun. Hoping for Empty Threat to be the other track yet to come!

Sexy and cool is pretty much the perfect way to describe Chains  It was the same reason that I really enjoyed Close too, he definitely has this vibe around him now as a popstar that really works now he's lost his little Jonas Brother image.

Hey Mama was in my EOY top 5 last year, the production is a bit crazy really but it is a very exciting few minutes whenever it comes on. The chorus is just one huge hook and all the raps are of course the highlight for me, Nicki and David are a dream team really.

Conor Maynard is like a YouTube vlogger now, always see him pop up on my homepage now with the rest of the YouTube crowd, not like his music career was successful anymore though so good on him  His older tracks like Can't Say No and Vegas Girl were tunes but he was pretty terrible with all his comeback tracks imo, didn't really like any of them ://

:D

Hi! :D Songs I'm liking so far:

201 14 Charlie Puth ft. Meghan Trainor – "Marvin Gaye"

202 18 Marina & The Diamonds – "I'm A Ruin"

209 14 Natalie La Rose ft. Jeremih – "Somebody"

210 29 Jessie Ware – "You & I (Forever)"

213 12 Robin Schulz ft. Francesco Yates – "Sugar"

215 22 Jessie J – "Flashlight"

219 17 Sam Smith – "Lay Me Down"

220 27 Kelly Clarkson – "Invincible"

224 23 5 Seconds Of Summer – "Hey Everybody" I love them normally and whilst this is good, it's by far their weakest single for me.

197 17 Nick Jonas – "Chains"

195 19 David Guetta featuring Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha and Afrojack – "Hey Mama" This was his best song for me although I think Shed a Light is now on its way to take that title!

193 24 Conor Maynard – "Talking About"

Excellent start! :D

Yeah I'll admit I was also very surprised by how much I actually liked Fetty Wap's music. There's something about him that I like and his voice, which is not really like any other voice out there, somehow works well in this music!

Yeah you can definitely expect to see more of Chvrches' songs on the countdowns for other years (especially The Mother We Share ) I'm excited for you to see what the other song is, but you're gonna have to wait a while :P

Sexy and cool is pretty much the perfect way to describe Chains  It was the same reason that I really enjoyed Close too, he definitely has this vibe around him now as a popstar that really works now he's lost his little Jonas Brother image.

Agreed! I'm glad he shed his 'good boy' image and we got this sexy and feisty new Nick, haha. Close is another great track of his! He's really had some great tunes in the past 2-3 years. Can't wait to see what else he has in store for us.

Hey Mama was in my EOY top 5 last year, the production is a bit crazy really but it is a very exciting few minutes whenever it comes on. The chorus is just one huge hook and all the raps are of course the highlight for me, Nicki and David are a dream team really.

I agree. Nicki and David work really well together and 'Hey Mama' is understandably a highlight for many from last year. I think what left it in the dust of so many other songs for me is the fact that it never really had a proper impact date for me. It just kind of appeared and floated around and then suddenly the fuss was over. I couldn't really tell you when I was listening to it mostly except that I listened to it quite a bit in the early months of 2015 haha.

Ohh okay I did not know that. Well to be honest the only comebacks of his I listened to were 'Talking About' and then 'R U Crazy' which I also liked. When I look him up on Spotify all I see are covers lol so I guess that's where he's at right now.

224 23 5 Seconds Of Summer – "Hey Everybody" I love them normally and whilst this is good, it's by far their weakest single for me.

195 19 David Guetta featuring Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha and Afrojack – "Hey Mama" This was his best song for me although I think Shed a Light is now on its way to take that title!

Excellent start! :D

I agree with 5SOS that this is a weak single by their standards but for some reason I still enjoyed it a lot. It kind of felt something that would be in an action scene in a kids movie though lmao. For me 'Hey Mama' doesn't even come close to being the top Guetta song (not even in the Top 10), but it's a great song nontheless! I haven't really listened to 'Shed a Light' much now though.

Leave a Trace and Hey Mama

Glad you saw something you like! :D

Leave a Trace is my favourite out of that lot, and one of my all time favourite CHVRCHES songs! :music:

It really is a great song. One of their best I agree.

'Chains' is stellar for all the reasons you described, and I wouldn't have given it a chance either if it wasn't for 'Jealous'. One of my two favorite Nick J songs, the other being 'Levels' which I reckon will appear later. And 'Another Lonely Night' is brilliant, 'Ghost Town' even more so of course. Adam's second album disappointed me so both of those songs were wonderful to hear!

190 | "Fun" by Pitbull ft. Chris Brown

It's strange, I wouldn't have thought I was really a fan of either of the two artists involved but for some reason they always have a couple of songs each on my year-ends because god damn it they know how to make a catchy hit. 'Fun' is just that, it's a simple but fun song and the rhythm really makes you wanna dance your ass off. It's a combo that many people undoubtedly loathed with all their might but me it's one of the catchiest hits of last year. Pitbull has just one more hit coming this year but Chris Brown will grace us eight more times before the countdown is over lol.

189 | "Pretend" by Seinabo Sey

You might be familiar with that name as the singer on one of the first songs that Kygo gained attention for – 'Younger (Kygo Remix)' – back in 2014. I'm a huge fan of scandinavian pop and this swedish singer showed us last year she's not gonna be known as no one hit wonder. 'Pretend' is a quirky number and Ms. Sey delivers strong vocals on a sort of synthpoppy beat that absolutely puts you in a trance. It's so strange but yet so immensely interesting that you can't help but wiggle a bit to the beat and let the melody absolutely consume you. Unfortunately this is her only song on the countdown, but look out for her first hit on my 2014 list coming soon after this one.

188 | "All Cried Out" by Blonde ft. Alex Newell

Colour me surprised when I found out that Unique from Glee could actually produce a good dance single. Turns out she had more than enough of that power vocal to give as she featured on two massive songs at the same time, but more on that later. Blonde have proved to be a power EDM duo and although this is their only entry on the countdown they had another one not far behind (No. 254) and a huge hit in the year before. 'All Cried Out' is a massive tune and I remember having only recently discovered it when I heard it played at a huge club in London and wow what an amazing moment to have experienced.

187 | "Sparks" by Hilary Duff

Well this is funny – I actually thought 'Sparks' was Hilary's comeback single because I had all but forgotten about her two 2014 singles lmao. This was however the perfect little pop song to bring her back into the spotlight in my opinion. Unfortunately it didn't exactly set the charts alight but I guess that may be due to the fact that bubblegum pop like this aren't quite what the public are looking for these days – which is very unfortunate. This is Duff's only entry on my countdown which should probably come to no one's surprise since it was the only song of hers to gain any attention in 2015.

186 | "Gunshot" by Lykke Li

Featuring Lykke Li on the 'Night of Neglect' episode on Glee was possibly the most fitting homage to this underrated superstar hiding in plain sight. Her third studio album included three amazing singles, with one of them being this haunting track. I cannot express how utterly heartbreaking I find the fact that this song – or really any of her songs bar 'I Follow Rivers' – never got any of the attention it deserves. Her songs absolutely pierce your heart and it's easy to experience the pain she sings about. Luckily (hehe) we'll be seeing another of her songs coming up on the countdown, but it's gonna be a while.

185 | "Wildest Dreams" by Taylor Swift

Even though there's something about this girl that I'm not a huge fan of I can't help but admit she's good at making some real catchy music. I'm totally #teamkaty in that battle but it's hard to deny her talent and rightfully so she's gotten more than enough attention for it. I don't think I have to describe 'Wildest Dreams' or any other Swift single to you guys as I'm sure you've all heard it a million times lol, but I really like the timeless romance theme in this song and video. The imagery is beautiful and her love interest is very handsome. For all you swifties out there, don't worry there's two more smashes to come.

184 | "Worth It" by Fifth Harmony ft. Kid Ink

It's strange for me to cut all these huge hits in the bottom rows of the countdown but the amount of amazing singles last year just made this all the more harder to rank. When I first started listening to this song I was already hooked and I could have sworn it would end up in my Top 100, but what fails to help this song is the overplay on radio and for me it just grew old much quicker than I anticipated. I like Kid Ink's addition to the song even though it is a bit simplistic and repetitive, and overall this song hasn't aged all too badly. I can still shake my booty to it on the dancefloor if it comes on downtown lol. This is 5H's only entry this year and the same goes for Kid Ink.

183 | "Do It Now" by Jasmine Thompson

For me, this cute little british singer (seriously she was 15 in 2015) was one of the best discoveries of last year. This pop smash was definitely a hit waiting to happen but for some reason it just didn't. I am grateful that she got some major exposure through Felxi Jaehn though and I hope we'll be seeing a lot more of her in the future. 'Do It Now' is a song I discovered late in the summer and it feels like something you should definitely be able to hear on radios everywhere and I really just think it's a shame that I never smashed. Jasmine has another song coming up a bit later on the countdown.

182 | "Body Talk" by Foxes

It seems like this section is a get-together of underrated pop princesses galore and here's my latest addition – someone I imagine a lot of you will agree with me on: Foxes. How she hasn't managed international fame is honestly a mystery to me. She's got a wonderful voice and a quirky yet beautiful look which she utilizes in the fullest in her videos. Her two albums have both been amazing littered with underrated gems left and right. 'Body Talk' is definitely one of those gems, with synthbeats that are just mesmerizing to the core. This is the first of two songs of hers to feature on my countdown.

181 | "You Don't Own Me" by Grace ft. G-Eazy

I'll be the first to admit Grace looks absolutely nothing like I imagined her to. This tiny blonde and that huge-ass voice?! Just wow. Recycling old songs is a trend that I'm absolutely all for and even though I wouldn't have recommended it, bringing back this 60s ditty in an absolute monster of soul vocal was a great step for miss Grace. I wasn't a fan at first but it didn't take long for me to fall for this song as the vocals are honestly just a piece of art. Neither Grace nor G-Eazy show up again on this year's countdown, but here's hoping to see more of her in the coming years.

Sugar

Yeah I loved it at first and the video was hilarious but for me it grew old too quickly to chart higher on this countdown! :(

Yeah I'm the same, I honestly wouldn't have given it a chance if it wasn't for 'Jealous' lol. And yeah well, you'll actually be seeing both 'Jealous' and 'Levels' later on in this countdown! ;) I haven't listened to his second album yet but those two songs are absolutely stellar offerings. It's sad to hear that the album doesn't quite meet the standards those singles set for it.

All Cried Out :music: what an amazing track!

You Don't Own Me was good as well! I preferred Dirty Harry though.

Glad you like those two! I haven't heard Dirty Harry, maybe I should give it a listen!

Hi jaf!

I kinda agree with you that Hey Mama just sort of happened but that worked in its favour for me because it meant that I was adoring it for months on end because I was hearing it on radio way after I'd first been enjoying it, it had a really long chart run on my personal chart!

It's a shame Wildest Dreams wasn't a big hit actually because it always one of my highlights from 1989 but with no Spotify at all, what does she expect :( It all feels very sweet and it has a lovely melody, her last era has just been hit after hit for me.

Worth It is another track that was huge on my EOY last year as well. It was just such a jam and the girls just had IT in the video and live performances of the track. It's one of those tracks you can't help but just dance and lip sync too, same goes for Work From Home from this year too!

Hey there! :D

I really like Sparks, Hilary was on top form last year, I loved her album! I actually preferred My Kind and Night Like This from the album.

You Don't Own Me is my favourite from that section, I loved it around the middle of last year but got back into it when it became a hit in the UK, really great track, the singing and the rapping complement each other nicely I think!

Fantastic stuff :D
