Fake Love is awful :puke2: Controlla is worse in my opinion but this doesn't do Drake any favours

Ole was really rather terrible, he has an irritating voice at the best of times anyway but my lord, that song just had no tune and it sounded so messy :lol: Not sure what he was thinking at all, he's more tolerable as a featured artist anyway though!

 

Omg at all this hate for Sucker for Pain though :( The chorus is so catchy and I love the raps too ! I do agree that Heathens is the better track though!

John Newman does actually appear in my EOY of songs I like later on.

 

I'm not a fan of Sucker For Pain either, but I don't really have anything against That's My Girl (and I'm not a Fifth Harmony fan)

Well, it's better than the other songs they released this year, but that's about it.

Some great picks on your hate chart so far actually. No Broken Hearts is absolute trash & glad that never took off, Sucker For Pain is also largely terrible & one of the worst hits of the year.

 

However I really like Olé (one of his best) and the Drake tracks, although even as a big fan I'd rank Summer Sixteen as one of his weakest ever singles.

No Broken Hearts [4.5] (was kinda turned off by this)

Ole [5.5] (Meh! JN has better (Love Me Again, Come And Get It, his collabs with Rudimental) )

Summer Sixteen [6.0] (11 months of this song and I didn't realize it was a diss track :o )

That's My Girl [6.0] (Not a fan of 5H [Worth It meh, and I didn't like Work From Home], but I quite like AIMH and this)

Sucker For Pain [8.0] (I like this song, Heathens, and Purple Lamborghini)

Fake Love [6.5] (TheNeedleDrop said that the song sounded like "a boring Hotline Bling" in one of his Best + Worst Tracks Of The Week videos)

I dislike Controlla, but I find it merely boring, as opposed to Fake Love which I find really grating.

Where do I even start on this one? The lyrics are awful, the production is annoying as hell, and the result of this is a complete mess. Thankfully it wasn't a big hit.

By some distance the worst number one of 2016 (although, somewhat worryingly, four songs which have yet to appear in this top 20 nearly made it), Closer spent a month at the top in August and September. While not nearly as bad as #SELFIE, which remains one of the top 10 worst songs ever, it's extremely generic and boring, something made worse by its success. Why couldn't Don't Let Me Down go to number one instead?

Sex [4.5] Something about this song slightly turns me off. I prefer "Let Me Hold You" and their collab with Schulz and Guetta, "Shed A Light".

I never got why Crank It was so popular on here, the type of song I could only enjoy blind drunk. One of the worst dance songs of the year.

I loved Night Visions, although Smoke & Mirrors was a disappointment, and I did lik Renegades aswell.

Iggy Azalea returned after a bit of a break in March this year with the godawful Team, the lead single from her second album Digital Distortion, expected for next year. Thankfully it didn't go any further than #62, and it hasn't had any follow up as of yet, although one is expected for January.

One of the biggest hits of the first quarter of the year was Jonas Blue's "Fast Car", an awful rendition of Tracy Chapman's classic song which sucked out all the life and soul of the meaning, and then somehow outpeaked it, reaching #2 in the charts compared to #4 for the original. His later hits "Perfect Strangers" and "By Your Side" were better, but that's still no excuse for this.

The second atrocity Fifth Harmony inflicted onto the world this year was All In My Head (Flex), in collaboration with Fetty Wap. Unsurprisingly it wasn't any good, but luckily it failed to reach the top 20 and disappeared relatively quickly.

:puke2: #8: Rae Sremmurd feat. Gucci Mane - Black Beatles

The first few seconds actually aren't bad, it's more the vocals and the extremely misogynist lyrics that do it for me, ruining a somewhat interesting production. The song took off and quickly became a big contender for number one, but thankfully it was stopped by Rockabye, and now is falling rather quickly.

Selena Gomez's Revival era started off well, with Good For You being quite good, however the rest of the era didn't impress me. However, while Same Old Love and Kill 'Em With Kindness were simply uninteresting, this was really bad. Unfortunately it became a sizable hit, although it didn't stick around too long.

Team [5.5] I liked Fancy and Trouble, but this I didn't like as much.

Fast Car [6.0] Perfect Strangers and By Your Side were better songs by Jonas.

All In My Head (Flex) [6.0] Okay, even though I'm not huge on 5H.

Black Beatles [6.0] Did not expect the Sremms to reach the Top 10 of the UK Singles Chart, could have been due to the Mannequin Challenge.

Hands To Myself [5.0] Not huge on Selena. Though I admit, I quite like Naturally.

:puke2: #6: Nevada featuring Mark Morrison & Fetty Wap - The Mack

In sixth place we have Nevada, Mark Morrison and Fetty Wap (again) with this utter crap called The Mack, which is a (terrible) remake of Mark Morrison's Return of The Mack from the 1990s. It has currently peaked at #14 in the UK charts, and I can only hope it doesn't go any higher.

At #5 is a song that isn't technically from 2016, but which was a minor hit this year and is simply too awful to not be included here. The first hit for Dawin and the second (and hopefully the very last) for Silento, also responsible for the horrific Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae), this climbed up the top 100 in January but thankfully stalled at #35, although it was included on Now! 93.

Like most viral challenges, this 'song' climbed up the chart and then, thankfully, fizzled out quickly. The video is awful aswell (that's not usually what happens with police officers and black teenagers). How much worse can things get?
