Welcome to my (very) roughly compiled Top 40 songs of 2016. Thanks to all those who have commented on my chart this year.

 

Nobody managed more than two entries in my chart this year. Olly Murs and Sia are the only acts who managed two songs in my Top 40 both last year and this year. Jake Bugg & Shawn Mendes also nab two spots each this year - although if you count featuring credits then Anne-Marie, Sean Paul, Selena Gomez & MØ can also be added to the list.

I am one of the few who prefer Tears to Rockabye but the latter is still a great track, some lovely strings still (although I wish they were prominent), some touching lyrics and some excellent vocals courtesy of Anne-Marie. I hope we get a follow-up soon too, CB have just been on top form for a while now :wub:

 

Yay at another big fan of Stay too, it just feels so forgotten now but I feel like if it was released earlier in the era, surely it would have been a huge hit! It's not original by any means but it is just a full-on banger, absolutely love it :wub:

Hi Josh, I'm good thanks, hope you had a good Xmas & new year! Glad to hear there's lots you like here, I completely agree with your comments about Rockabye. Looking forward to hearing what Cb throw at us next. Yeah, 'Stay' was massively under-rated, and I think you're right, it just got a bit lost towards the end of the era. It's actually one of the most unoriginal dance songs ever and despite that it really is a full-on banger, so I'm glad you love it as much as I do!

Brilliant top 5 there, like all of those but especially love Super Natural & Stay, both appear very high on my countdown (if I ever complete it :lol:)
