April 20, 20178 yr Author Did anyone see this, Renault's vision of what F1 cars would look like in 2027: http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12473/108...ctacular-images
April 20, 20178 yr https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/renault-...car-895651/?s=1 ^a link for those of us allergic to the daily hitler. It looks stunning! Love the idea of active LEDS in the wheel hubs showing data.
April 20, 20178 yr Author A kind hearted Jenson Button has pledged £15,000 to support British Formula 4 driver Billy Monger who has had both legs amputated in an horrific crash live on ITV4 during the BTCC support races. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/39651421
April 21, 20178 yr Alex Zanardi will be that kids role model from now on. Utterly horrific to hear about tho.
April 26, 20178 yr Author Surely a non-Mercedes car might actually lead in Sochi seeing as every race so far that has been held on Sochi it has been a Mercedes car leading every lap.
April 28, 20178 yr Author Hopefully the signs look positive with Ferrari 1-2 in second practice although I don't read too much into that. Remind me what's fascinating about Sochi?
April 28, 20178 yr Mercs suspiciously off the pace. I don't buy it. Sochi is noteworthy to see how much money was wasted by Putin in attempting to shore up his image and give legitimacy to his regime while his own people suffer.
April 29, 20178 yr Palmer binned it into a wall yet again failing to get out of Q1 a whole second off Hulk's pace. He's simply just not good enough for a factory drive, or any drive. Rumours of Alonso coming back to Renault for next season. That would please me greatly. Saw somewhere someone saying that Renault is the only place Alonso has ever really been happy/non-disruptive
April 29, 20178 yr AT FUCKING LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crying. Didn't think this day would come. Front row lock out for Ferrari!!!! Long live the prancing horse!!!! First time since 2013 we've had a car that isn't a Merc on the front row. Now to get the Renault powered cars up there.
April 29, 20178 yr Not been quite that long surprisingly, Singapore 2015 was the last time. Impressive stuff though, I expected Ferrari to win the race even if a Merc was on pole but it's pretty much a foregone conclusion now, especially with Kyvat way back on the grid this time round.
April 29, 20178 yr Author First front row lockout for Ferrari since the 2008 French Grand Prix! A great moment for F1 in Ferrari getting 1-2 in qualifying. It's good to see them back at the front. That was my reaction too, Silas when they got 1-2.
April 29, 20178 yr amazin! vettel's reaction was brilliant too v pumped for tomorrow, should be a good race and a great fight up front
April 30, 20178 yr That is fantastic for Bottas! Immense start which surprised me as usually its the Ferraris off the grid best. Made up for an otherwise standard tedious Russian GP. Gutted for Danny Ric, not having the luck this season at all.
April 30, 20178 yr Hate that it's another merc victory but am thrilled to see Bottas get his first win and comprehensively thrash Hamilton. Hulk had a strong race going 39 laps on the ultras!
April 30, 20178 yr Hate that it's another merc victory but am thrilled to see Bottas get his first win and comprehensively thrash Hamilton. Hulk had a strong race going 39 laps on the ultras! it was getting to the point i thought he was just gonna push thru with them til the end tbh! same for vet and 20 second lead was pretty impressive thrilled for bottas tho. and good to see him above hamilton. not a fan of the circuit however. nothing much really happened and i kept zoning out. April 30, 20178 yr Yeah I agree that circuit is trash. Like the country to be fair. I was sitting there like "did Hulk sneakily switch to Supers in the SC????" Was impressive to see them hold on so long, more Michelin/Bridgestone esque tyres this year.
April 30, 20178 yr Author No passing at all in Sochi. Good to see Bottas get that first win. Great drive from him.
May 1, 20178 yr Author Palmer still showing no signs of any F1 potential following his performance in Russia.
