More like No Brain*, All Pain.

(* by which I mean anyone who doesnt have a buisness plan that is updated regularly according to circumstances. Or anyone who thinks one is unnecessary. Or someone who tries to hide accepting a truism by resorting to bland cliches)

There's no point in a business making predictions. The predictions are always wrong. Best just to rely on guess work, aided perhaps by tossing a coin. That's official government policy isn't it?

We know all about the pain but there is precisely zero evidence of any gain on the horizon.

But are you even *looking* for the positives of Brexit, or just quoting from a Europhiles 'bible'? :teresa:

It's not for Remainers to make the case. It's for Brexiteers to make the case. So far they haven't. Just vague promises unsupported by events, from liars with selfish reasons for lying and getting what they want (eg personal riches and power).

Try as I might I have yet to see a single thing that will benefit ME. Plenty I can see benefitting the likes of Rees-Mogg and Mrs May's hubbie and Rupert Murdoch.

It's not for Remainers to make the case. It's for Brexiteers to make the case.

How come you are using the present tense, when the decision was actually made nearly 2 years ago?

How come you are using the present tense, when the decision was actually made nearly 2 years ago?

Because you just challenged Remainers to look for positives (present tense).

(There aren't any)

Because a decision 2 years ago based on lies is not the same thing as evidence right now based on the current situation. You are free to make the case and you have failed to do so for 2 years. Just one itty bitty ray of sunshine that will show we can all look forward to something good that will come out of it. For us. Not for the rich. Not for the Press Barons. Not for the Offshore Bank accounts. For us. Not much to ask for. Surely there must be SOMETHING after 2 years you can provide as evidence that we will be better off in some small way?

We already have a Trump thread and it took approximately 0.5 seconds for this one to get derailed talking about Br*xit.

I'm going to merge them, but please try and stay on topic.

So no 'Project Fear; either? ;)

By pointing to the referendum result?

Oh. The result of ONE day on a NON-FOOKING-BINDING referendum?

Ok. Let's look at it.

52%.

Does it reach 66%?

Nope.

Anywhere close?

Nope.

Did the young vote for it?

Nope.

Did the old?

Yes.

Did all nations vote for it.

Nope. Half.

Oh.

So my question:

How the HELL can the government push this through??

One more and you're warned.

But you cannot offer *facts* for events that have yet to happen - only projections & speculation.

If it were otherwise, bookmakers would all go bankrupt... :P

When making decisions governments can consider forecasts or they can just wing it Companies face the same choice although they have the added complication that just winging it is likely to lead to bankruptcy.

One more and you're warned.

One more what?

One more REFUTATION?

We need a new mod in here. Not one who's biased against certain posters.

Never a problem for gov'ts unfortunately, because it's always someone else's money they are spending.

I think you misspelt 'Repetition' there. ;)

Perhaps I should apply for the position... :heehee:

Back on topic, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was sacked yesterday just 24hrs for speaking out against mother Russia for their attack on UK soil. Coincidental timing that one. He also found out he’d been fired by tweet. Stable genius indeed

...and the new appointee is Head of the CIA who has supported torture tactics. As has the new proposed Head of the CIA. I can see how they got the jobs, not caring about the Constitution, law, rights and so on....

It's come to something when a Head of an Oil Company looks great in comparison to successors and the President....

For all the fair concerns that were had about him, he actually seems to have done an alright job. Which is probably why he got fired

That and going on record calling Trump a "f***ing moron"....

No-one here would have a job if that were the only criteria! :P

so. Mueller has officially "requested" evidence/records from Trump's businesses. Trump has said previously that would be the final straw for Mueller/FBI. So we now have a showdown at the OK Corral and we will shortly see who blinks first. Either the USA becomes a corrupt state run by rich businessmen (see Russia) or the rule of law still applies. I don't think we can under-estimate the importance of this. Great for Trump though, that his staff can put out a criticism of Russia without having to do a single thing. (British spies)

Not so great though that it appears Russia has been attacking US energy companies. Oops! Presumably Trump will still call it fake news and refuse to do anything about it, being as they own his ass and all.

Statement from the fired FBI Director stating plainly the President of the USA is corrupt, bitter and vindictive.

(PS it's also witness tampering when you threaten to remove a life's pension to a witness on a criminal investigation, and then carry it out a day before retirement to deprive said pension, because you are sending out warnings to other government-paid witnesses by doing so)
