Falling out are; former number one 'Extreme' by Bassjackers and KSHMR down 10-13, Jonas Blue's first top 10 hit 'By Your Side' down 9-12 and the Lotus and SPYZR remake of 'Push It' by Salt-N-Pepa down 8-11. In their place, at number 10 this week is 17-year old French electronic producer Petit Biscuit with his debut hit 'Sunset Lover', which is starting to climb the UK Spotify top 200 and hopefully can turn into some sort of hit eventually. It climbs to this position on its second week in the chart so it could well spend some time here. Also entering the top 10 in its second week, though it had been bubbling under for some time beforehand, is 'Say To Me' by WHTKD, up a huge 21 places to number 7 this week so it could definitely contend for number one in the future. Above & Beyond also climb into the top 10 with 'Another Chance' up 12-8 and in doing so becomes their highest peaking single to date outpeaking 2014's 'All Over The World', a #10 hit for them. It is also the first hit for them under the name Above & Beyond presents OceanLab, that being the name for their project with vocalist Justine Suissa. Calvin Harris just about hangs on to the top 10 this week falling 7-9 with 'My Way' after 17 weeks in the chart, 15 of those spent in the top 10 though it would be 17 without the Christmas songs invasion. Clean Bandit also fall this week from 3-6 with 'Rockabye' making way for TheFatRat to get his third top five hit with 'Prelude (VIP Edit)', in collaboration with JJD who this is the first hit for. They climb one place to number five and Jax Jones climbs likewise to number four with 'You Don't Know Me'. With the song now set to be a UK top 10 hit, the extra exposure could keep it top five in this chart for a while. NVOY fall a place to number three with 'Make You Mine', being overtaken by Aly & Fila, up two places to number two with 'Unbreakable'. It is the first hit for the Egyptian trance group and it could potentially be their first number one hit too as they are not far from overtaking Zara Larsson, who remains number one for a second week with 'I Would Like'. Her previous number one 'Lush Life' spent two weeks at number one as well, so it would be a record for her if she keeps hold of the number one next week. Top 40 climbers The big climbers into the top 40 this week come from Norwegian production duo Atella and vocalist Frøder with 'Closer To Life'. Originally sent as a BJSC entry and finishing in fifth position, this has recently had a Danaelandan streaming push and now climbs into this week's top 20, up 45-19. Sub Focus has an even bigger climb to this week's #21 with 'Love Divine', his first chart hit for years. It climbs 65-21. Also entering the top 40 this week are Bizarre Inc with the Low Steppa edit of their 90s dance hit 'Playing With Knives', ascending 71-32. Additionally a smaller climb from Laura Brehm, up 43-37 with 'Don't Wait' which becomes her first solo top 40 hit following two features on TheFatRat singles. The big climbers within the top 40, other than WHTKD and Petit Biscuit going into the top 10, come from Marcapasos, up 39-26 after entering last week. Smaller climbs come from BLR, JP Cooper, Little Mix, Wizkid and Migos who all gain new peaks outside of the top 20, as well as Starley who on her eleventh week is still climbing, up 18-17 with 'Call On Me'. It could go even further in the coming weeks too as it's now starting to take off in the UK charts and radio. New entries None of the top 40 entries this week are brand new in the top 100, in fact to find the first top 100 entry we have to go as low as #78. #78. elkka - Try Now elkka is someone I never expected to get another hit here. For those who have forgotten or weren't here, she was the guest vocalist in a former Danaelanda BJSC entry namely 'Siren' by Kat Krazy. This song is a lot different to that though, the easiest thing to compare it to is the UK garage sound you'd expect from Shift K3Y. Could potentially go top 40 soon but it's more likely to stall at around this area. #80. Joe Goddard - Lose Your Love Goddard is someone you may recognise as being a Hot Chip member, or for his great solo effort 'Gabriel'. Well this isn't quite as good but it's a nice laidback electronic tune. #92. Snakehips and MØ - Don't Leave This could potentially be the big song MØ needs to get back in the public consciousness after 'Drum' flopped, and on first listens it sounds great. She really goes all-out for it, and the production is decent although not quite up to the standard 'All My Friends' set. This could definitely climb a fair bit soon though. #93. Ed Sheeran - Shape of You Well I'm not half as excited about Ed's comeback as the world in general seems to be, but he does tend to do decent songs most of the time. The production feels a bit bare at times but it's a nice song, it should climb. #94. Alan Walker and David Whistle - Routine An Alan Walker fan-single whilst he releases 'Alone' commercially, although to be honest 'Alone' is a lot better which means I'm not listening to this that much. Decent enough tune but he can do better. #95. Don Diablo, Steve Aoki and Lush & Simon - What We Started (feat. BullySongs) This one's been bubbling under for ages, though I gave it another chance after it started climbing iTunes the other day. It's a decent enough tune really but no big loss if it never takes off. #97. Kiesza - Dearly Beloved This is a bit unexpected from her really, may take a few more listens to really get used to but either way it's a massive dip in quality from 'Hideaway' and 'Giant In My Heart' which is a shame. No surprise this is flopping really. #98. Aeroplane and Purple Disco Machine - Counting On Me (feat. Aloe Blacc) This is quite a nice funky house tune, although it doesn't have quite enough energy for my liking so I can't see it properly taking off in my chart. Quite a disappointing use of Aloe Blacc too, he could be any soul vocalist here. #99. Ed Sheeran - Castle on the Hill Here's Ed again, this one isn't quite as good as Shape of You for me but as an indie tune (I generally prefer his uptempo pop leaning tracks more) it's good and the lyrics are fairly interesting. Bet I'll be sick of it in about 10 weeks after the radio has spammed it to death though so best I just enjoy it while I can. That's all then. Nice chartthanks Dobbo~ I think they're trying to quickly move on seeing as I Would Like has flopped everywhere except the UK, so no proper video for it :( good to see prominent dance-bloc members getting behind my entry :D (you and Buzzjack Mountain both big fans) yeah I am enjoying Sub Focus's comeback, although I'm still waiting for another 'Tidal Wave'/'Endorphins'/'Turn Back Time' moment.
January 19, 20178 yr Yes I am loving Unbreakable atm. About Alan Walker, I wish he for original songs would a. increase the bpm back to the normal for progressive house and b. make more lively original songs (like the style of the Move Your Body remix). You Don't Know is OK but it needed a more interesting and less minimal instrumental I think for me to like it completely. Yeah Yeah Yeah though was great....great retro style vocal AND disco strings too in it :dance:
