Finished it about an hour or so ago, the last 3 episodes were flawless. The whole TV show is one of those where, the first few episodes are just enough to keep you hooked, but by the end of it, it's so well put together and those episodes were needed, in the end.

Clay's tape was truly heartbreaking! Absolutely devastating. Then we have the

rape scenes/suicide scene. As hard as it was to watch, they really needed to be as graphic as they were, because that just made it impact so much more and make everything seem a lot more real, to give off the ending that they did

.

As others have said on here, I think it's one of the most important shows I think I have ever seen. It just opens your eyes to so many things and gives you a perspective on certain issues, that you might have missed before. I felt so emotionally attached to Clay because I too had a best friend who took her own life at such a young age and I do question myself and think "was there anything I could've done?" or were there signs at the time that I clearly missed. So it really hit me hard.

Episode six was very well put together actually, lots of character twists. Then someone on Instagram spoils the ending for me. This f***ing show honestly...
Skipped through this without seeing anything which is good! But after two episodes the only word I can use to describe this is "mindf***"!
Just watched the first episode. AMAZING. Good job I have a free day today (Saturday) because it's gonna be spent watching this :P

Oh, the heaviest thing is yet to come.

Wasn't it just? Was seriously contemplating giving this up six episodes in but by the end I was so invested in each and every character. Excellently worked and runs so much deeper than I initially thought. Amazing.
I swear to god, I almost fainted when

she started slitting her wrists

.

Me and Camden have just finished this and we had to have 5 minutes to contemplate afterwards. So emotional and I can only echo the hard hitting-ness of those scenes in the last couple of episodes.

Brilliantly acted and in a way I kind of both want and not want a second series, considering how many unanswered questions we were given

(Alex shooting himself, Tyler possibly going on a shooting spree and the outcomes of Sherri going to the police and Bryce and the rapes).

One of the best things I've watched in recent years and it really hit home after I had "thoughts" in sixth form (not to Hannah's degree though).

There's a lot of controversy after Zara criticised the way 13 Reasons is presented, she says it tackles revenge suicide rather than mental illness which has resulted into stans telling her kill herself which forced her to remove every single tweet she's made.
it'd be great if she actually watched it first. because from where i'm standing it doesn't seem like she did. i'm not sure where revenge suicide can you get from watching this. she made tapes, yes, but it wasn't her intention to release them in the end. and besides what's wrong in letting some people know they actually were reponsible to driving her to death?
Revenge suicide? The point of it is that every seemingly little thing adds up and can have major and irreversible consequences...

Wow at that irony in people telling her to kill herself. I hate society.

(also lol at you still shoehorning Zara into stuff)

I'm suddenly seeing so much backlash for this now when before it couldn't have been praised enough? This post on Tumblr outlines the issues one person had with it, and I mean they're not wrong but I still think the show was done well for the most part

y'all overanalyze the smallest shit I swear

*also I guess we shouldn't give a shit about spoiler alerts considering everyone here has already watched it but if you haven't i'm sorry if this rant reveals a lot of key plot devices*

Sometimes it's about looking at the bigger picture rather than small details. Try to approach it like a painting rather than an SAT problem. Any of those people could have asked her what was going on or tried to understand what was going through. That's why Clay felt guilty after listening to his tape. Everything we do affects everyone, and that's the bottom line. It's kinda unfortunate, because a lot of the key scenes were cleverly thought out and well-written, and this reaching to bash this show seems a bit bandwagon-y.

Agreed 100%.
Yea I agree with you 100% Cody, I'm not now turning on the show as I believe it's hella important and I saw the message it was going for from the start (see my earlier reply to lee) and just because people are throwing backlash towards it now doesn't mean I'm going to, I could just understand where that person was coming from and wondered what other people thought is all

I have decided to check this out after all the HYPE.

I have just finished episode 2. I am enjoying it right now.

I am currently on episode 7 *so all opinions in this post are based on my viewings up to that point*

There are some things it is dealing with brilliantly, particularly the SCHOOL side of it.. how management deal with bullying, how sometimes they choose to brush things under the carpet rather than tackle them head on... I can really relate to a lot of that and have seen it first hand in my own work life.

I have some issues with the idea of revenge suicide though, and unless it COMPLETELY changes very soon, that is what I can see unfolding in front of me. Some evidence to support this: "I'm going to play mind games with you just like you played with me" / sending people to spy on others - which was a major thing that turned her into despair, the blackmail of having another set of tapes ready should people not listen through these... and more. I think her character is so unlikeable that I can't in anyway agree with the lengths she has gone to to make these tapes, spread them and offer it as a legitimate reason for her suicide and the impact she wants it to have after she passes.

As I said, I hope that all changes as things become more clear.

I am not completely cold, some of the things that have happened to her (and the culmination of them all) are harrowing and despicable. If it makes you feel so bad as to want to kill yourself, use that as a way of empowering others, NOT make them feel just as low.

Just my two cents about some things that have come to my mind in my watching of it SO FAR, i'm still majorly excited to see how it all continues to build and plays out in the final few episodes *_*
