February 3, 20179 yr Can we call Jax Jones the official #1 this week, , the top 2 Ed Sheeran tracks are getting so old for me.
February 3, 20179 yr Touch is still decent, amazing it's lasted so long considering I Would Like outpeaked it and that's falling down the chart pretty quick. Still I guess the Year 7's are loving it :puke2: Maybe I Would Like would still be in the top 10 if it actually had a proper music video made for it :drama:
February 3, 20179 yr This would've been spending its second week at number one if it wasn't for Ed Sheeran :o
February 3, 20179 yr It has been so long since we had a proper dance track at number 1 - all the way back to KDA/Tinie Tempah/Katy B in October 2015 for that... just the year before that every other number 1 seemed like a dance anthem! So close with Kungs and Jonas Blue last summer
February 3, 20179 yr If it wasn't for Ed, Jax Jones would have been having a second week at #1, such a great tune.
February 3, 20179 yr Maybe I Would Like would still be in the top 10 if it actually had a proper music video made for it :drama: Doubt it, it just capitalised on the time of year for a cheeky number 2

February 3, 20179 yr Shame really because I Would Like isn't cringey like Touch, should have outlasted it :(

I'd call 'Rockabye' a dance track though even if it's dance-pop.

I'd call 'Rockabye' a dance track though even if it's dance-pop. Very good point about the OA/OS but a track at just 102 BPM is far too slow to consider it a proper dance track. I think it needs to be 115 BPM+ (at least) - Louis/Steve Aoki is 117 BPM and Jonas Blue/JP Cooper is 118 BPM at the lower end of the scale.
February 3, 20179 yr Bored of this top 2 now :( Hope we get a massive surprise release to knock Ed off the top spot.
February 3, 20179 yr I'm happy with 'Shape Of You' staying at number 1 for now, it's addictive - although would love Jax Jones, Little Mix or Starley to take the top spot soon but I guess that's unlikely. Who could spring a surprise release and grab the number 1 from him selling over 120k? I don't think anyone realistic at the moment...

February 3, 20179 yr That's very impressive for 'Touch', is 5 weeks at #4 a record? If someone knew the answer to this, that'd be great? I can see Touch possibly outselling Shout Out and Black Magic eventually.

In 1990, she rose to fame with the release of "Vision of Love" from her eponymous debut album. The album produced four chart-topping singles in the US and began what would become a string of commercially successful albums which solidified the singer as Columbia's highest selling act. Carey and Boyz II Men spent a record sixteen weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 in 1995–1996 with "One Sweet Day", which remains the longest-running number-one song in US chart history. Following a contentious divorce from Sony Music head Tommy Mottola, Carey adopted a new image and traversed towards hip hop with the release of Butterfly (1997). In 1998, she was honored as the world's best-selling recording artist of the 1990s at the World Music Awards and subsequently named the best-selling female artist of the millennium in 2000. Carey parted with Columbia in 2000, and signed a record-breaking $100 million recording contract with Virgin Records America. In the weeks prior to the release of her film Glitter and its accompanying soundtrack in 2001, she suffered a physical and emotional breakdown and was hospitalized for severe exhaustion. The project was poorly received and led to a general decline in the singer's career. Carey's recording contract was bought out for $50 million by Virgin and she signed a multi-million dollar deal with Island Records the following year. After a relatively unsuccessful period, she returned to the top of music charts with The Emancipation of Mimi (2005). The album became the best-selling album in the US and the second best-seller worldwide in 2005 and produced "We Belong Together", which became her most successful single of the 2000s, and was later named "Song of the Decade" by Billboard. Carey once again ventured into film with a well-received supporting role in Precious (2009), and was awarded the "Breakthrough Performance Award" at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. Throughout her career, Carey has sold more than 200 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. According to the RIAA, she is the third-best-selling female artist in the United States, with 63.5 million certified albums. With the release of "Touch My Body" (2008), Carey gained her 18th number-one single in the United States, more than any other solo artist. In 2012, the singer was ranked second on VH1's list of the "100 Greatest Women in Music". Aside from her commercial accomplishments, Carey has won 5 Grammy Awards, 19 World Music Awards, 11 American Music Awards, and 14 Billboard Music Awards and has been consistently credited with inspiring a generation of singers. - Wikipedia Top 100 Chart History Mariah Carey 1990 09 Vision Of Love -1- 1990 37 Love Takes Time -2- 1991 38 Someday -3- 1991 54 There's Got To Be A Way -4- 1991 17 Emotions -1- 1992 20 Can't Let Go -2- 1992 17 Make It Happen -3- 1992 02 I'll Be There (Mariah Carey feat.
