February 5, 20178 yr I hear Sexual Gold and it's just mind-boggling why they didn't make the cut. It would've been an instant hit.
February 5, 20178 yr Author The x album is strange. Many of the leaks I've heard are far better than some tracks which ended up on the album. Spell of desire and I'm ready are both good tracks albeit need a bit of tweaking but far stronger than the likes of nu-di-ty, heartbeat rock and speakerphone.
February 5, 20178 yr A couple of these aren't Kylie. Give Up To Love, Never Be Lonely, To The 9's, Can't Get Enough are defo session singers.
February 5, 20178 yr Author Ive heard quite a few of the new leaked demos and nothing much is standing out!
February 5, 20178 yr The idea of DEMO VERSIONS of 2 Hearts and Heart Beat Rock fills me with so much terror I welcome the Trumpocalypse.
February 8, 20178 yr The x album is strange. Many of the leaks I've heard are far better than some tracks which ended up on the album. Spell of desire and I'm ready are both good tracks albeit need a bit of tweaking but far stronger than the likes of nu-di-ty, heartbeat rock and speakerphone. The issue with X is that it's overproduced and unfocused. They attempted to cover all bases for her first post-cancer album so it ended up being a directionless mess. No matter how one feels about her previous albums before and after X they all had a clear vision. Yes, even Body Language. Edited February 8, 20178 yr by tommie
February 27, 20178 yr It's such a shame with how 'X' was handled with it's tracklisting, singles and promo's and seeing what ended up on the album and listening to some of those demo's, well it's just a travesty as 'X' could have given Kylie another 'Fever' type success, instead of being so rushed and how in the hell was songs like 'Something 2 Believe In' & 'Sexual Gold' not end up on the album, they are both amazing and both had such huge potential especially over the poor lead single '2 Hearts' which totally limps compared to those two and isn't even remembered anymore. Even demo's like 'Spell Of Desire', 'Come Down', 'Fall For You', 'In The Mood For Love', 'Lose Control' & 'What's It Gonna Take' were far better than some of the tracks that did end up on the album like 'Sensitized', 'Heart Beat Rock', 'Nu-Di-Ty' (terrible), 'All I See', & 'Cosmic'. Switch those with the demos I just mentioned and 'S2BI' & 'SG', then the album could have been a classic, or at least these could have been featured on some sort of re-release the following year maybe. February 28, 20178 yr X was the Kylie album/era that had such huge potential. While other albums under performed we could understand, Aphrodite for example lacked killer singles outside All The Lovers, Kiss Me Once was in large seen as a poor album etc. There was so many high quality tracks on X, some demo's had wonderful potential that sadly never came to light. If the album was more focused and had they selected all the correct songs, i have no doubt this could have been another huge success like the Fever era. When we look at all the work that was in the X era, demo's, b sides and actual albums tracks themselves, it really was some of Kylie;s finest work. What i find frustrating is, some of the songs left off the X album are so much stronger than most of her output in the last few years that were actually official singles.
