A casual chart fan here :hi:

Where do you think Giants will chart officially in its first week? Bear in mind the track has physical singles to sell too!

Feel free to post where you think below and vote in the poll ^_^

I do hope top 10 at least, but I can't ever tell with the charts these days (no pun, haha)

Early reaction seems very positive - Also the 2 X CD bundle will give a decent boost as they usually just release 1 CD.

Hopefully Polydor will push this hard on streaming too but I think this will go Top 10.

I'd really like it to go top 10 as that is a major achievement considering their long standing as a POP artist where chart single success is only limited to a certain time frame but it's really uncertain where it'll end up.

Acts like Madonna, Kylie etc really struggle to go top 40 let along top 10 so I'd vew any TT single from here on out going top 10 as a major success however even top 40 would be good.

To compare them with a similar act Backstreet Boys last lead off single (granted we're talking 2013 here) charted only in Germany #100 and not in any other major music market top 100. Plus that was a reunion record with all five members so the equivalent of TT 'The Flood'. For me as long as the albums continue to sell well for the current climate of sales then I'll be happy as that represents the collective work of the group.

A top 10 single would be fantastic though but they need to flog themselves all over TV not just for first half of week where there is heavy radio play, Let It Shine, music video potentially etc all 7 days. Once a song charts highly it creates it's own hype as it has status top 5, top 10 etc etc. This is normally what has been happening with TT singles it goes high on iTunes then last four days drop, drop, drop.

The carpool karaoke and performance on Late Show in US will definitely help it Worldwide but that's a month away so ideally they need to push it up charts and keep it around the top until then.

The UK is their obvious priority however I'd love for the track to go top 40 around Europe as well. If it charts well outside Europe then obviously that's a bonus (Patience,The Flood etc) then that'll be great however the hard work starts at home before going elsewhere. It would help the album sell outside the UK also if that was the case.

An optimistic top 10,i would be delighted if they can get there. Streaming is what will prove difficult for them.

After hearing how good the song is, I'm gonna be optimistic and say low top 5.

Better than expected start on Spotify at #59 thanks to the new music playlist.

Their social media accounts are really plugging Apple Music and Spitify too. HMV tweeted that they are also selling the CD singles in all stores which could help pick up a few causal sales.

I really hope they make Top 10 - can't wait for the first set of mids so we can see how well (Or not) they have sold on physicals.

Before tonight, I'd have said top 10, but now, with 0 promotion, probably top 75.

^^ There's no way this will miss the Top 40 IMO.

'Cry' had no physicals, limited streaming and managed to chart at #21 officially, whereas this is the lead single this era, has 2 physicals and is Top 60 on Spotify.

'Cry' got 2 sales out of me - the initial download and then the remix EP that was released a few weeks later, 'Giants' has managed to get 5 sales out of me in week 1 (2x bundles, 1x download). A quick scan on social media shows literally 100s of fans posting about their signed CD bundles.

I think the fan base will chart them this week and then the general public sales will build up over the coming weeks as promo starts for the album, also hopefully Polydor have a budget/plan to get them on the Spotify playlists!

Cry was no 5 on iTunes for a long time, whereas Giants is free falling. I desperately want you all to be right about Giants charting higher than Cry, though.
I think if Giants now makes top 20, it'll be a miracle

I think it's disheartening that they are allowing the single to free fall. I think they know that their audience still like singles and music videos etc so still do them to keep the fans happy.

Maybe this first week isn't the big push for the single and the next coming weeks are instead? In the past first weeks were essential in the singes chart but now outside the big names who go straight in at #1 most other artists climb I believe. In terms of singles TT are one of those artists as is Robbie. Love My Life started at #57 went up and down until it's 9th week in top 100 eventually peaking at #22. Am unsure why that was but maybe the same will happen for TT?

The song will most likely go top 10 in Scotland as since their reunion in Scotland these have been their top 10 singles:

Scotland

Patience: #1 (4 weeks)

Shine: #1 (1 week)

I'd Wait For Life: #6

Rule The World: #2

Greatest Day: #2

Up All Night: #2

Said It All: #1 (1 week)

The Flood: #2

These Days: #1 (1 week)

Cry: #6.

Top 20, hopefully top 10

They really should've released the video with the single and promoted the song on Let It Shine. I don't know what their plan is.

Seems like there isn't a plan. They know the first week is crucial for their releases, so why not have any promo lined up?
