It's better than I thought it would be...the drop is a bit early 00s eurodance/trancepop sounding...but with a third of the bpm , pity it drops immediately after the verse and doesn't build up more from the verses in a more progressive style.

The verse and lyrics are good too.

This reminds me of Lovers On The Sun

Lovers On The Sun  , one of my favourite dance tunes of the decade

Maybe it is reminiscent of it a bit, it has the folky chorus and then the electronic drop, a bit like some of Avicii's songs (Lovers On the Sun was co-produced by Avicii). Unfortunately Something Just Like This isn't as progressive and doesn't flow smoothly into the drop. I would have preferred SJLT if there had been more of a buildup into the drop after the verse like in Lovers On The Sun and a faster bpm in the drop. Basically if it was a progressive house track!

Hopefully The Chainsmokers will get more progressive soon and less drop focused, unlikely though as 'the drop' is such a big part of 2010s dance music, particularly in America.

LOL at this being a redundant rip-off of their OWN song ('Roses'!)

this is so basic :|

At least it was better than most of the post-Closer singles they released so far.

This is such a stain on Coldplay's discography. I can't get over how basic The Chainsmokers are trying to make music become. Since Closer, they've just churned out the most simple, boring and formulaic songs. The intro to this is just basically the exact same as Closer! Its incredibly worrying that these songs are becoming such hits.

This and Paris are two of the worst songs of the year so far. It's a shame because I did like Roses & Don't Let Me Down a lot, as well as Closer too but I've bored of that now.

It really is quite boring and .... "done", I feel like it's only afloat because of the names at this point and I can see it falling quite quickly, unless it gets a big boost from a video or something.
