Lorde track sounding decent on second listen. I like how she's changed her sound - but it still has that Lorde stamp on it. Shows her versatility.

Which pwrsonality ahould we listen to here? :kink:

The first was referring to Chained To The Rhythm and the second post was referring to Human, of which I absolutely HATE.

So, Beyoncé and The Weeknd both managed 6 album tracks in the Top 40. Stormzy managed 7. STORMZY IS OFFICIALLY BIGGER THAN BEYONCÉ AND THE WEEKND :cheer:
If he's not careful he'll be too big for his own boots :kink: :basil:

The grime haters must be pissed off with Stormzy being #1 in the albums chart.

Surely Stormzy being #1 must absolutely show that streaming sales for albums are added later or at least the bulk of them. Wasn't he behind in the Thurs midweek update?

All streaming sales are added throughout the week (albeit a day late), I can say this with 100% certainty and I don't know why you're arguing otherwise still?

Would be interesting to see a breakdown per day as I agree with you there is a higher than expected amount (even taking into consideration that Thursday's streaming total will take into account two days worth of streams).

Because again Rihanna's album has gone from not in the midweek top 100 to #78. Stormzy has taken the lead to #1 at the last minute, when it seemed to be going the other way. The only way I can see either thing happening is because both are big streaming acts and for such sudden increases late in the week I can only think it is through their album 'sales' streams being added later or the majority added later.

Streaming data is a day behind - for example, Monday's midweeks will be lacking Sunday's Spotify/Apple Music data for whatever reason. This means Thursday midweeks will lack Wednesday's data, and Friday's chart lacks Thursday's data but this is estimated using trends from the week. This is why Rihanna's album climbs from the midweeks - the upweighted streaming data is added and it benefits. Album streaming data is 100% added throughout the week though, I can say this because I've seen streaming figures and percentages from the midweeks.

Do you know if the streaming data you see in the midweeks for the albums includes all streaming platforms though? I can imagine for some of the smaller streaming services getting the info by the end of week is viable but for each day probably not. Could Amazon, Tidal etc not have all their album streaming sales just added on the last day?

It normally states any missing data and Spotify/Apple Music for the previous day is normally the only thing missing! I doubt any of the other platforms contribute that much anyway.

Nobody doubts that streaming is added throughout the week but the percentage added on Thursday is higher than expected even taking into account the points made above, surely we will have access to the daily figures at some point to analyse???

Well it was doubted just above which is why I was explaining  no you won't have access to the daily figures because they aren't published :magic: I can assure you that I've explained everything above. If other minor platforms are added later, it would only make a miniscule impact anyway because Spotify are by FAR the market leaders and take up a huge share of streaming sales.

Stormzy was streamed approx 20k times over the week, Rag'n'Bone Man 4k over the week.

2 days are added (Weds & Thursday streams) after the Thursday midweeks.

So assume 2/7 of the above figures are added. That makes up the 2k gap and some. Stormzy's album likely was purchased more as well on Thursday - I'm sure I saw there were £5.99 offers for it?

Rag'n'Bone man was 2.7k in front yesterday and he will have also had 2/7ths of his 4k streams added to that, I'm still not convinced a large majority of album streams aren't added at the end of the week.

I know you have provided an explanation but the Maths don't fully support it I'm afraid and this week has highlighted the discrepancy more than a regular week because of Stormzy's impressive streams.

Thank you for providing the maths there Lenny! If people want to continue ignoring the facts then they're welcome to but there is *nothing* to support the idea that the majority of album streams are added at the end of the week.
I pretty much provided you with the maths and a reason for the remainder above?

No, Stormzy was down by 2.7k in the Thursday update but his winning margin was 3859 therefore his Sales were 6559 (approx) more than Rag 'N' Bone Man on Thursday, I don't think this was explained?
