Posted March 3, 20178 yr http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/great-british...oking-showdown/ Looks like the BBC have found their temporary Bake Off replacement! The Big Family Cooking Showdown will feature 16 families who let the cameras (and judges) into their homes, where they will cook old family recipes in an effort to impress. The show will be broadcast in autumn of 2017 and will consist of 12 hour-long episodes. "Having been through a food competition as an amateur cook myself," Nadia said in a press release, "I know exactly how tough it can get and so I'll be there for them, alongside Zoe, as the pressure really builds!" Great to see Nadiya getting a prominent role on the BBC as well.
August 14, 20177 yr Is it Autumn already?!?! This starts at 8pm tonight! On BBC Two as well!! Starts tomorrow. I'm quite interested in this mainly for Nadiya she has so much charm and her current show on her own is fab and half an hour flies by. I have no interest in the new bake off so I'm looking for a new show and I'm bored of Masterchef as it overtakes the tv too much being on 3 times a week
August 15, 20177 yr The music on this is so Bake Off! The Big Family Not At All Bake Off Related Cooking Showdown! I am already intrigued. The first challenge is £10 to make a typical 'weekend lunch' - one family is making risotto with fennel and lemon. Just WHO has that for a casual lunch at the weekend?
August 15, 20177 yr ALSO the other family is making Swedish meatballs! Again, who on earth has that unless you happen to be in IKEA?
August 15, 20177 yr ALSO the other family is making Swedish meatballs! Again, who on earth has that unless you happen to be in IKEA? Is the Swedish Chef from the Muppets on it
August 15, 20177 yr It would be so much more realistic for weekend lunch if the family said, oh arse this I'm having peanut butter on toast and a bag of crisps.
August 15, 20177 yr ^ !!!! Omg I'm watching this on iPlayer now and I so get that, like you might have these things on a special Saturday family lunch when like Auntie Julie comes down to see the new baby but they could have phrased it better and just said make a dish that represents you as a family or something
August 17, 20177 yr It would be so much more realistic for weekend lunch if the family said, oh arse this I'm having peanut butter on toast and a bag of crisps. My peanut butter on toast is amazing. As for the way I can open a packet of crisps,...
November 5, 20177 yr This is on Netflix now. Trying but not getting into it so far. :( If you try to avoid seeing it as a substitute for Bake Off, it is quite enjoyable.
