Phelan has got to be one of the worst soap characters ever. Like seriously f*** off

Each to his or her own. I think he's fantastic and just wish he wasn't going out of it soon. One of the best two characters ever for me, alongside Les Battersby. Okay I'm easily pleased. :D

The best villain ever in my view in corrie was Jez Quigley and Richard Hillman. They were both truly terrifying and not panto like Phelan.
I don't think it's giving Phelan anywhere near enough credit to call him "panto". He's a captivating actor and I love to hate the character, which is surely the aim.
He's not panto but the storyline is absolutely ridiculous now, thank god it seems to be coming to an end soon as he can't get away with it much longer.
I knew that would happen. People complain about anything on Corrie these days, it's ridiculous. The show it's better than it's been in YEARS, let's appreciate the fact that it's tackling taboo subjects in such an explicit way.

82 people have complained about Billy's heroin taking in church

It handled Bethany's grooming storyline very well this is another example. Yes there are taboo subjects that are going to be hard to watch, change the channel then. I'm sure they'll be complaints with David's upcoming storyline.

They'll get even more I bet about David's rape storyline which starts in a fortnight, although of course no rape scenes will be shown, only the aftermath.

Think about the type of people who would actually write in to complain about a TV show though...

thankfully the billy storyline is the best is the best in soapland
She speaks so slowly that half the cast has died of old age by the time she's finished her sentence.

This drives me crazy, and she mumbles too! She just looks so miserable. I know the character is going through hard times but most of the time when she's on the screen I'm willing her to speak up a bit and stop mumbling so I can hear what she says.

god I sound like an old lady

So we have a date for Phelan's demise.

Ironically Good Friday, 30th March, is when Eileen pushes him over the cliff in scenes filmed on location in Whitehaven. He doesn't die though as rumours are he's back to take hostages in a siege situation in BGT week.

The David scenes at the end end of the episode were handled very well. It is a good storyline to tackle as the reality is, this is happening all the time and this is highlighting how easy it can happen to anyone.
