I'd say Harry sold about 23.9k first day, he's probably looking at very close to 50k in the midweeks - though I doubt he'll reach 100k by the end of the week. Estimating around 84k from him overall!

Regarding 'Shape of You' you forgot to include extra streams from the remix (which is extra 120k spotify plays ~ 1000 sales), and I think it'll stay in the top-3, but there's a chance this could fall to 4 indeed!

Think you also need to factor in the album versions of Shape and Galway, and the Stormzy remix version of Shape, all on iTunes in the top 100, into the calculations as well.

 

I suspect that will make 2, 3 and 4 neck and neck.

Any impact of the glitch was probably evened out by the loss of the New Music Froday playlist being promoted, I actually expected a drop for that reason so was pleasantly surprised to see it up 1 today.

I'd expect “Shape Of You” to be #3, with CB at 2 and “Galway Girl” down to 4. Probably less than a few thousand between all 3 though.

I doubt labels pay anything to Spotify. Labels are all Spotify co-owners and their playlist are probably done in a way that appease label bosses.

It's an odd situation too.

 

During the digital age, even though things like 'hot songs' and banners had a small impact on the chart. If a song was catching the public's attention, it would climb the chart healthily either way. With Spotify, it's very rare for a song to do well unless it's featured on major playlists.

I know but he needs to be advancing more rapidly at least keep the streams fairly even.

Harry is not gonna climb to #1 anytime soon, he did better than anybody else, Galway and Symphony lost more than double compared to him

It's been playlisted on Radio 1 now and it's not doing too badly on iTunes - I really hope it can become a hit, but I'm not holding out any hope as none of my favourite UK rap tracks of the past few months (Dun Talkin, Samantha, Wanna Know, Addison Lee, Can't Go Wrong etc.) have become hits - but it'd be fantastic to see this get big :wub:
