The show – set entirely in the car of Kay’s character John as he drives his friend Kayleigh (Sian Gibson) to work –was a hit with viewers when it aired in 2015 and also won the best scripted comedy award at the 2016 Baftas. The first series climaxed with a ‘will they won’t they’ moment between John and Kayleigh as their chemistry grew, and by the close of series one it looked as if romance was on the cards. The soundtrack to their friendship – courtesy of fictional local radio station Forever FM – was sealed with a mix CD from Kayleigh to John. As with series one, the second batch will premiere on BBC iPlayer in its entirety before broadcast. Will be four episodes this series and I've heard April 11th but not sure whether this is in relation to its broadcast on its arrival on iPlayer! Either way I'm very hyped for this as I loved the first series, worked a lot better than I thought it would!

November 17, 20177 yr Author Been announced on Children in Need that it will be returning for a special finale episode and another bonus unscripted episode that will be unrelated to the storyline! So happy that we’re getting to know what happened after THAT final scene! Though that was the end so buzzing for this. Will be here next year!
April 8, 20205 yr Didn't know whether or not it was worth setting up a new thread just to put this in, but Peter Kay announced an audio version of Car Share will be on the BBC iPlayer this Friday:- Peter Kay’s Car Share Returns With A Special Audio Only Episode Peter Kay: “It’s a horrific situation right now we’re all going through and like so many I felt compelled to try and do something positive in an effort to cheer people in some way. Sian Gibson, Paul Coleman and myself got together via t’internet and wrote a new short episode in an effort to try cheer people up. It’s all happened very quickly, in fact it didn’t exist a week ago. Obviously we weren’t able to film anything because of the lock down but I hope people will use their imagination and enjoy listening. I’ve given the episode to the good people at BBC iPlayer and it’ll be available to listen from Good Friday 10th April Here’s hoping people enjoying having John & Kayleigh back. Lord knows we need it right now.”
