The songs below her are all in dark red/red though, so she's still doing very well considering it's 11pm :D

Nothing really happens overnight on iTunes, there may be dark reds but the actual popularity figure won't change much at all cause barely anyone will be downloading. The morning is where it gets interesting, whether it stabilises or falls after the fanbase impact!
Beyonce deifnatley would. Even when Lemonade was released like 4 of the album tracks went top 10 on iTunes. She hasn't done a traditional single release in a long time... but if Formation was released right off the batt of the hype, instead of being a free song on Tidal it would have gone to #1 on iTunes and maybe could have even made it officially, if released on Spotify too.

Honestly I think any Beyonce release now would be a huge steaming force, she'd easily have been the most streamed female artist on Spotify last year, shame really.

Oops Jo beat me

Beyoncé has only had two solo Top 10's in the last 8 years and seems to only focus on her albums now. I'm not sure she could have another #1 single.

Did she have Hot Songs exposure, by the way?

On Apple Music she's the second row!

That is a nonsense. A Beyonce single release that was an album lead and given a proper Spotify release would do 50k+ easily.

She has so few top 10's because she hasn't released properly.

I thought we were talking about iTunes?

Totally with Davidson here. She's never had a proper opportunity at a hit in the last few era's - either the music has been totally non-commercial or her promotion has been messy af. If she was to have a properly hyped single with TV performances and Hot Hits/Hot Songs support she'd be top 3 first week, easy.

Well if we were talking about iTunes then why are you bringing up the fact she has only had 2 top 10's in the last 8 years? That has nothing to do with a discussion about iTunes, especially seeing as she had 6 songs of the top 10 on iTunes last year when she released 'Lemonade'

Replying to someone that said Formation would have gone to #1 officially.

The hype that was around Formation she definitely would've 10000000% got a top 10 out of it and I can't see why it wouldn't be a #1, if she released it all properly. It's just that she is averse to Spotify bc of Jay-Z and Tidal, plus it was just a random release of the video at first, and then by the time we could buy it it was when Lemonade was out so people bought the album.

It would have gone to #1 officially if it was given a proper release, including on Spotify, I also believe so, or at least very close. As we see from her album releases, she gets a good 60-70k opening each time (without Spotify). If she premiered a lead with Spotify too, I would imagine the final week's total would have been around the same combined as her album opening week, if not slightly higher.

However, would it have gone to #1 officially without streaming? No way.

Beyonce is probably still the biggest female artist in the world. It's a massive shame she hasn't done a traditional single release in years, but if she dropped a new single with even a slight build up she'd rocket to #1 on iTunes. No one can say if Formation would have made the top spot officially for sure but there's a high likelihood that it would have.

I think and hope that this will be Gaga's biggest hit at least since Do What U Want. If Perfect Illusion debuted at 12 with a Friday release I can see this debuting between 15-25 but with a better chart run as it's much more commercial and I imagine this will appeal to more of the GP too :)
I just checked and Formation still got to #2 on iTunes with the release of Lemonde, 4 months after its premier and even though her website had been giving it away as a free download.
Imo as a non female pop artist fan Beyoncé is THE biggest female artist of the 21st century music scene!
