'The Cure' is really non-eventful. Give me the old Gaga of 'The Fame' times...

I always feel everything Gaga does is disingenuous. She seems to so desperately want to be the big huge name/seller she once was. The switch to less quirky with Joanne seemed such a PR move as people had been getting bored of the over the top stuff, now jumping on the current tropical trend that goes instantly against Joanne and its direction.

 

I feel like there is actually a genuinely good album in her (like Anti or Lemonade) if she just stopped trying to chase something.

This is actually a great shout! Some radio airplay will boost awareness of the song and because MILLIONS of people are listening to the Big Top 40 they'll be made aware of the song and she can get buys beyond her fanbase :D

How is releasing a country infused acoustic ballad (Million Reasons) as a single being desperate to be a big seller :P

 

Because before that album everyone was saying she needed to do something simple, the OTT outfits, music etc was doing her no favours anymore. It is not like a decent ballad has ever hurt anyone. Also wasn't it basically her first ever released ballad?

 

I just feel the likes of Rihanna and Beyonce are past chasing it, they are doing what they want, they only promote when they feel it right, they don't chase chart positions with price reductions they even hamper their chart success with exclusive deals with Tidal or the 1.4m copies Samsung gave away of Anti and not even bothering filming a video for Love on the brain.

 

I just feel desperation with Gaga, I guess others my see it as a good thing but I feel like she can never just let the music speak.

I get where you're coming from - but Gaga isn't Rihanna or Beyoncé and she's always been the kind of person to promote and perform live. If anything it shows that she's got a genuine interest in her fans and good on her for wanting to do well in the charts.

I think it probably comes from my fave Gaga song is Speechless and I feel their is a genuinely great album she could make if she didn't care how it would be received.
