Remake of the old film starring (and directed by) Bradley Cooper and also starring Lady Gaga. She's being credited by her real name though so perhaps this could be one of her most serious tries at acting to date.

The old 1937 and 1954 versions were huge Oscar contenders and even the Barbra Streisand remake was nominated for 4 Oscars so this could be one to watch out for! Looks promising and I'm reading for ActressGa tbh!

Yeah. Early hype is good for this! I hope it's actual hype and not just coz it's Gagas first major picture lead, which is what I'm worrying about atm!

Yep early reviews from Venice seem pretty strong and people are thinking Gaga can get a best actress nom after seeing it 😍😍

A couple of the songs have leaked 😮 Obsessed with what's leaked of the shallow ahh I need this song in full (the 30 seconds after Gaga's part in the trailer leaked), I'm avoiding the others cos I don't want any potential spoilers haha
94% on Rotten Tomatoes as we speak, the QUEEN is ready for box office success

Wouldn’t go that far yet

Stars in space are born when atoms are squeezed under enough pressure for their nuclei to undergo fusion. Here, two stars are born anew under the pressure of overwhelming expectations (totally the same thing, physicists) both shining brighter than ever before in a new chapter of their respective careers. A Star is Born might not be the life-changing movie that one very early and eager review claimed it to be, but with a winning combination of humour and heartbreak, Lady Gaga's most important project in years certainly brings her closer than ever to glory.

Ugh I could WEEP.

Most of the highest praise is coming from the most well respected movie critics too. There are genuine expectations of multiple Oscar nominations with Variety (I think) suggesting it could take all 5 of the main trophies. It'd be only the 3rd movie ever to do that.

Definitely don't want to pin hopes on that at this stage, but everyone can't be wrong. I think now it's an absolute certainty to pick up nominations, it's just whether they'll recognise Gaga or not that's unpredictable.

What I will say is that her acting is coming across so natural in the extra clips they've released. I'm very optimistic for this.

Oh and I'm ready for The Shallow to absolutely end me.
