April 27, 20178 yr A lot of the replies to that Katy Perry tweet seem to think Migos is just one person too. Is it like Marilyn Manson?
April 27, 20178 yr Thinking Migos is one person... They've been on so many jams lately! Quavo (one of the rappers) is on the Khaled/Bieber single and has also featured on big tunes Congratulations and Pick Up The Phone.
April 27, 20178 yr A lot of the replies to that Katy Perry tweet seem to think Migos is just one person too. Is it like Marilyn Manson? I think the confusion is because on their big hit single 'Bad and Boujee', over half of it is rapped by Offset (including the hook and first verse).
April 27, 20178 yr I wonder how well OneRepublic will do? They've gone for a knock off of 'Shape Of You', which was a knock off of 'Cheap Thrills' in itself, it seems. :( https://twitter.com/OneRepublic/status/857504596612104193
April 27, 20178 yr Sounds like a big hit. Fair play to them for jumping on the bandwagon when it's a tried and tested formula for hitmaking and their singles from the last era didn't exactly light up the charts.

Fair play to them for jumping on the bandwagon when it's a tried and tested formula for hitmaking and their singles from the last era didn't exactly light up the charts. It's a shame they have to resort to this to still have an impact on the charts, but One Republic is One Republic and I'm down for anything they put on the table :D Hopefully this will be a hit somewhat like "Don't Wanna Know" was for Maroon 5... but better :P
April 27, 20178 yr Jumping on the latest bandwagon is such an easy (and desperate) thing to do. I thought OneRepublic were above that tbh.
April 27, 20178 yr Jumping on the latest bandwagon is such an easy (and desperate) thing to do. I thought OneRepublic were above that tbh.You see, this is what I'm surprised about. Their albums have been natural progressions in sound, I feel. I will obviously judge properly when I hear the full thing (the clip is really getting stuck in my head ), but I didn't expect them to chase a hit that much! I'm all for it if it gets them a hit and puts them back on the map properly, but this isn't what I wanted for them </3
April 27, 20178 yr And just like that, it's definitely more "influenced by" as opposed to being an outright copy! Really loving it. Hopefully a Summer smash for them!
April 27, 20178 yr Jumping on the latest bandwagon is such an easy (and desperate) thing to do. I thought OneRepublic were above that tbh. I've always thought the opposite funnily enough. Their first album fits totally into Coldplay/Fray territory that was big then, and their 3rd album added a Mumford & Sons-stomp to it right when that was in vogue (Of Monsters & Men, Lumineers). Can't really pin something directly for their last album but I did feel once again they were trying to update into the times.
April 27, 20178 yr just heard the new HAIM song Right Now, but think it's just a buzz track, the 1st proper single is out next week
April 27, 20178 yr Of these new releases, who exactly isn't bringing out a tropical-inspired song?

I can see why you'd say Lumineers due to 'Counting Stars' (but even then it's pushing it a bit imo) but that album is a lot more diverse than 'Counting Stars'. They've progressed with their sound with each of their albums, but nothing has been quite as "obvious" when it comes to chasing a hit as this song. (But it's only a "Buzz single" - I'd imagine that'd kill the buzz more than anything) :')

Ah alright fair play, memory is mostly based on "Counting Stars" & "Something I Need", only sparingly heard other tracks.
April 27, 20178 yr New Wale single just dropped, features Dua Lipa, Major Lazer & WizKid called 'My Love'. Will be out tomorrow and sounds very summery.
