No. Everyone says this all the time and they manage to recover perfectly fine. They said it for 'Hair' and 'No More Sad Songs' and both those did perfectly fine!

Garrix I assume had weekend playlists? Rita probably coz R1 have been spamming it (well, Grimshaw def has). I don't think (well from my understanding ofc) Little Mix had any playlisting beyond the new music Friday? People are so quick to judge a songs success in the first day nowadays, when you should know the pattern by now...

This isn't just about being a stan, I really hate this thread on new release week regardless of the artist involved

Rita held on because she made the top 50.

New songs that don't make the top 50 always have huge falls in the second day.

Is this just gonna climb into the low 100s every weekend and then never Chart properly?

This upsets me.

I don't know how Swish Swish is managing to hold up so well outside the top 50 with 0 airplay.

Its probably the its totally not about Taylor swift but it really is publicity its getting

Also little mix performing on bgt final so I'm sure it will stabilize and climb back upq

Garrix has held up so well because he's got a high placing on Today's Top Hits.
It's odd that Hot Hits Uk hasn't updated in over a week. It usually updates twice a week and it's been like 9 days.
I didn't realise NMSS fell that low on day 2

Admittedly, it had the Sheeran dominance to contend with, but NMSS fell to ~180/190 on day 2.

Sunday is the worst day for streams, nothing changes and the only climbers are Ed's songs :(

26 Slow Hands

37 Thunder

40 Lil Uzi Vert

50 Rita

funnily Swish Swish is holding at #51 while Bon Apetit is down to #65

#57 Garrix/Troyan

#60 Camilla Cabello

Hopefully Swish Swish holding up decently on streaming is a sign that the Gorgon City/Duke Dumont collab could do well?

If the public are still into this sort of sound, fingers crossed, it could become a hit.

Generally people still do enjoy that sort of sound, it's just most of the 'big' artists haven't bothered with it in a while.

But with that said, the music industry is in a bit of a limbo at the moment when it comes to the most popular sound/genre. The past few years we've gone from booming deep house, to chilled out tropical, and then to The Chainsmokers-type sound. However right now I think the public are well and truly open to a new trend to take over the charts for a while, and the return of Gorgon City and Duke Dumont could very well mean this. That is assuming they haven't gone with the trends too and completely thrown away their signature sounds like big acts Kygo, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, and even Martin Garrix have done (mostly unsuccessfully too when compared to their previous efforts).

I don't think deep house will be the next big chart trend. It was only a few years since it was dominant and I remember it becoming slightly stale by the start of 2015. The emergence of songs like 'Firestone' and 'Lean On' set the scene for the last few years.

That being said, I loved the deep house trend so hopefully I'm wrong! I do agree that the sound is still popular and plenty of the 2013-14 songs still get a good reception.

The #1 version of Despacito doesn't feature Justin?

They've combined them together. Bizarrely though they've replaced the remix with the original even though the remix was clearly the more popular out of the two on streaming
