Agreed, Freedom is very under-rated, I remember loving that at the time! Vocals were by one of the Sister Sledge sisters if I remember correctly?

thats right, Kathy Sledge is on the vocal.

 42. James Arthur // Can I Be Him

Didn't realise this was that high on i-tunes

From what I've seen generally and IRL, this does actually seem like a genuinely popular song. I can see it being a bigger hit than... well, whatever the last one was called.

I stopped caring for Chase & Status after 'Alive'... as did most of the UK public evidently as it still remains their last top 40 hit single. Such a shame what they've become now because they had some really great songs back in the day ('Blind Faith' and 'Hitz')

I saw Chase & Status in Cardiff at the time 'Alive' was being pushed to radio, seemed as if they were at their commercial peak then. Apart from the three aforementioned singles that album was quite experimental so it hasn't surprised me to see them continue down that route. It was at a time when Drum & Bass was big commercially in the UK so I don't think their type of music would suit the charts now (especially as their singles tended to be held-back and not have much longevity).

They had so many great singles back in the day though and I'll always associate them with a time when dance music in the charts was so much better.

I'm so sad at this news, but elated to see One & One back, easily one of my favourite ever songs. I never liked Children half as much but it's a classic and I'm glad people are buying it.

Almost the same here, I prefer both One & One and Fable to Children, but I'm glad Children is so popular.

I think Fable is very similar to Children and maybe that's way it wasn't such a big hit.

Is Kworb messing up? ... all top half is in red and all bottom half is in green!!

just look at the header, its "probably incorrect" update

It was a big hit, #2 in the Eurochart, but it was just eclipsed by Children in the long run

The Cure up to #7 :yahoo:

:cheer:

Are we going to have 4/5 of One Direction in the top 40 next Friday?

I'd say it's pretty likely although it might be touch and go whether Zayn will remain for another two weeks. I wonder what the maximum number of solo Spice Girls was in the Top 40 at any one time?

I think that probably would've been the chart for the week ending 4th December 1999. Mel C was new in at #4 with "Northern Star", whilst Geri and Emma's two singles from the infamous November '99 "Battle of the Ex-Spices" were at #14 and #23 respectively with "Lift Me Up" and "What I Am": http://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singl.../19991128/7501/

Where did the Eurovision Semi Final 1 acts peak in the end?

Semi-Final 2: (Before it airs tonight)

Nothing is top 1500 as of yet, but I would say that Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway & Romania should all be making appearances tonight. Along with France's AQ, I'd imagine.

So Liam's single isn't out until next Friday, by which time I reckon Zayn will be comfortably out of the top 40...
