Madonna's last album reached #2 (despite being heavily leaked twice) and Gaga's got to #3 so that's pretty comparable tbh, both have sold under 100k. Singles wise, for their most recent new material,The Cure got to #19 and Living For Love got to #26 so not much in it again. Both, as I've said before are now no longer tour de force's in the singles chart.

Anyway, this argument is pointless; listen to Two Steps Behind and you'll see why, comparing Madonna to Gaga is like comparing filet mignon to procesessed sausage

Look - the original point of your post was Madonna dissing a "former popular" artist who is actually having a bigger hit currently than Madonna ever will again. Comprende?

Look - the point is Madonna's next single will be bigger than a lowly #19. Comprende?

Any predictions for this week's official #1?

Will Despacito make it another week?

The last time Madonna got higher than 19 in charts was in 2009 where she peaked at Number 3 with Celebration.

So the last 2 album campaigns would big to differ. Streaming will always kill her chances and she just isn't popular anymore (or as popular as she once was)

Any predictions for this week's official #1?

It will definitely be there this week - I think it will next week too, stopping Liam from a solo number 1

'Comprende?' 👀

I wouldn't be surprised if Madonna never gets another top 40.

Aaaand back on topic, glad to see 'Malibu' still doing well. One of the songs of the year for me.

Combined and weighted, the #2 single (I'm the One) is at 0.4154 on kworb, in short, Despacito is absolutely slaying!

I don't think Liam would be challenging for a solo #1 anyway, I honestly can't see it doing a whole lot better than Niall Horan's debut.

I can see Liam's single debuting top 5, it does feel like it's gonna be more of an obvious commercial hit than This Town was.
Think Liam will have a top 10 debut, bear in mind this is his first single and it does sound commercial from the clip!

Yeah it sounds like a big hit from the clips, definitely much bigger than Niall's singles so far.

Yeah, Niall's music sucks tbh. I am looking forward to Liam's as it actually seems decent, unlike the rest of the 1D ex-members, all of whom have had really bad solo material.

I was thinking the same; the clip from the promo sounds current and as though it could be a big hit... much more instant than most of the other 1D output

 19. Niall Horan // Slow Hands

 43. Lana del Rey // Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind

 52. James Arthur // Can I Be Him

 59. The Vamps & Martin Jensen // Middle of the Night
