I can see them introducing Spider-Man at the end and having him think Venom is too dangerous etc. thus starting up their nemesis type relationship.

It'd be nice to have their relationship more intertwine dlike in the comics but like I said, it'd take too much time to set up and they've only just got Tom's Spidey off the ground.

I think that'd work well and be a more natural way of doing it. Even if they just use Venom in the Spider-man 2 stinger at the end of the credits etc.. just plant the seeds a little.
But I thought they ruled out Tom/MCU version of Spiderman being cannon?

They did and iirc, when I checked around that time I don't think Tom Holland was even on the cast and credits. So maybe they've decided to intertwine them and he'll appear in a stinger or something?

Venom is probably (coming from a non-comic book reader) the most iconic Superhero villain (well The Joker aside), at least to me and I always enjoyed his arc in SM3, I just wish they spent more time on it and focussed on it more than they did. So I'm really excited to see if they can actually pull off his character in a movie.

I loved Topher as Venom tbh, he just needed a bit more bulk :lol: but I always remeber Venom from the Spider-Man cartoon in the 90's :wub:

To the general non comic fan, Venom is probs up there with The Joker as the most well known villain I'd agree.

I wasn't that excited for this before but omg what a trailer.

The Venom reveal at the end was actually pretty brilliant.

Venom can hold his own without needing Spider-Man though, I have read Venom comics where I don't think Spider-Man is even mentioned

CBR dotcom reports there is a scene at the end of the end credits, so let’s hope they’re not too long.

5.5/10 Merely OK. Nothing wrong with the cast and premise, it's more the silliness (while playing it straight) of notions like having a space shuttle in the middle of San Francisco, and it being ready to fly and blast off in minutes;

or the body count in the early part of the film by anyone who gets "inhabited" to suddenly not be a thing at the end.

Just didn't gel really, so must be the script that's flawed as opposed to anything else....
