45-32 is my rapidly fading final prediction, and I can't bear to predict the seat totals.

Romney, you are completely wrong.

The pendulum is swining back to the left. You saw it in the US with Sanders snd Hillary desperately stealing his left sing ideas and here with Theresa making more left eing commitments snd talking about social care. Neoliberalism is deeply unpopular.

Qassandra, what do you say to me now?

I predicted Bernie's popularity WAY before you considered him a theeat, I predicted a Trump win over Hills, Brexit, and have been with Corbyn from DAY ONE. I knew this would happen. #forthemanynothtefew

With any luck, it'll be. Hung Parliament. The brainwashing Murdoch and Barclay press has done well, but its desperarion has been rank and became obvious even to people who are usually oblivious to its bias.
Their manifesto is comparable to Scandinavian social democratic, it's centre-left rather than far left. Corbyn is, but he's been reined in slightly, enough to produce a popular manifesto. To countermand your point I know (how it sounds in my circles at least) people who didn't care to make comment on political parties or I would have never thought of as left wing express admiration for his principles and his policies. He's getting through in a way Miliband didn't. At the very least, he's reminded people that Labour can be different from the Conservatives, and that has to be a good thing.

I also think we will see a left-wing government in the next few decades (granted, maybe not full, I don't actually think the UK is as right-leaning as its governments suggest, but you know, media influence and all the left parties are split, making it harder) if only because of a generation spending their lives railing against the government + the environmental factor which will allow the current out-there Green policies to eventually become mainstream and those are more easily adopted and presented by centre-left parties. Radical political change and destruction of political parties unpopular in government is happening in nations as big as France, after 5 years of Tories trying and failing to muddle through without Europe, that has to be at least on the agenda.

But the difference is we are a far different (and larger & wealthier nation) compared to Scandinavia. Their systems are great but a lot of people hate their tax systems. Or if they're clever enough they get around the system and take the benefits (I have Scandinavian family so I know this as a fact!). We have leaned more and more to the right for a long time, and rightly or wrongly I cannot see that happening.

A move back towards the centre I can fully see, but for that to happen both the Labour and Conservative party need to be in a stronger position in their leadership.

It's not swinging at all. What happened to Bernie and Sanders? They both got beat. Corbyn is not inspiring in the same way Obama was. Often these fans are young people who like to make a lot of noise. There are some great ideas which can be adapted in a more central policy and ideology surely but the whole Corbyn movement is complete nonsense and a fad.

Tell that to the UNPRECEDENTED rallies he has had since he took over.

Tell that to thw fact that the media was out to get Bernie from day one and was against the candidate with the biggest headtart in HISTORY.

It is a testament to his strength and popularity of left wing ideas he nearly beat her and WOULD have beat Trump.

Are we on about Bernie or Trump here? Bernie is more screwed on that Corbyn and has a lot more charisma and grater leadership. I don't believe he would have beaten Trump, but he would have given it a better shot.

One of the few people who predicted a Conservative majority in 2015 has said 98 majority to the Tories this time around. If that is true I cannot see how Corbyn can stay as leader.

All polls say he would have destroyed Trump.

Trump only won because Hillary was DEEPLY unpopular too + sexism in US society.

It depends on the voteshare. Also this election has been dominated by maaassive negative brainwashing. It has been undemocratic since day 1 of him becoming a possibility to lead Labour. Btw he has transformed Labour ito th largeat party in Europe, reversed their fortunes to now, on the eve of the electiom, polling ABOVE Mad May!! Lokr Bernie and Hillary with more time he woulda won.

He needs to stay.

Really nervous tbh, having played a bigger role in the local SNP campaign and communicating losing Abdn South to the Tories is a huge possibility, and a small Labour rise in the last week or two (obviously much less of a rise than in England) isn't helping.

Being a part of this election has increased my confidence in getting involved loads but I feel exhausted

I don't think any nation is too fundamentally different to learn from another, certainly not some of our closest neighbours. And maybe people over there have a few gripes about high taxes, and if that's all they're worried about, if their social systems work great, I'd take that every time.

Someone at work said they knew someone who put a tenner on the Tories winning so he could be happy either way. Not a bad idea tbh.
Because you're the kind of person who posts the first half of that post when someone mentions a black person got into the best university in the country. Bigots tend to victim blame rape victims.

When have I *ever* said rape victims are in any way at fault for their attacks?

You accuse me of thinking in stereotypes, while doing exactly the same thing yourself!

I know how you feel. In my campaigning days, by the time polling day was over I was quite attracted by the idea of a benign dictatorship

We did a mock election at sixth form last week:

Labour - 60.8%

Conservative - 16.9%

UKIP - 12.2%

Lib Dems - 7.4%

Green - 2.7%

Come through the youngsters that couldn't vote in the last election!!

Labour the largest party in Europe!? Come on that's a joke. If you're basing it off people paying £3 to sign up to vote well that is turning out to be another absolutely terrible decision the Labour party put through. If the Labour party wants to move forward they need to get rid of Corbyn. I genuinely can't believe people think he is turning the party around. Sure on a small scale, but never enough to have a majority.

Potentially, I just cannot see it happening here. They have some great ideas but are pretty much taxed at 40%. If we ever wanted to do something like that then we need to sort out the housing market first.

12.2% for UKIP from 18 year olds? Goodness gracious, Ukip would (shoot to) kill for that sort of nationwide percentage.

Yeah, I guess a huge downside of potentially lowering the voting age would be people that just take the piss with their vote. I highly doubt that many people actually support the manifesto of the UKIP party but just selected them for a bit of 'banter' with their mates...

I'm going 44 to 36, 70 seat majority. Assuming the polling average is very slightly off in favour of the Tories due to last minute swing to the incumbent.
