Oops was pretty much a single though, decent Capital and Heart airplay and an X Factor performance is way more of a push than most singles out there get at all.

Hence why it's silver and peaked at #41

Oops would be their worst single, it's probably the best decision left singles wise but I'd much prefer they just left it and moved on with a re-release. I can't see anything now going top 20, maybe Oops if it had a performance but X Factor won't be on til like October for a live perf and if they're gonna leave it that long they may as well do a re-release single just to keep things going through the tour, then take a break and come back properly in 2018.
They are not even performing Oops on tour... I think they hate it and are ashamed of it now.

They will probably perform it on the UK Leg of the tour as they did say they were performing more songs then.

I saw them in London last night. It wasn't performed.

Glory Days Tour not the Shout Out tour

Glory Days Tour not the Shout Out tour

Oh yeah, we'll probably get pretty much all of the album tracks on that one, the fact that they chose Nobody Like You, FU, Your Love You Gotta Not and Down & Dirty over it for the Summer Shout goes to show that it's not really their favourite.

I'd understand the need for a 5th single if 'Oops' had gone ahead as planned, and one of NMSS or Power had yet to receive the single treatment. At this point though, there's no huge standout track that everyone is insistent on being released (in the same vein as say, 'Nothing Feels Like You' from the Salute era).

IIRC there was a a little less than a 14-month break between "Salute" and "Black Magic" so if they're doing these types of breaks every other era then I'm all for it.
I think they were quite lucky to have come back so well after that break, I imagine it certainly wasn't the plan to have such a long break but they had to rewrite their album or something I believe. They were lucky they had an undeniable smash in Black Magic as an X Factor girlband disappearing for more than a year after a slightly less successful second era than the first wouldn't have been ideal.

Yeah it could very easily have their fade-out Glassheart kind if era if they had not come back with such perfection. I say it all the time but they owe so much to Black Magic.

I agree. They really do!

'Black Magic'/'Get Weird' really took them to the next level. They weren't just "popstars" they were "Superstars" imo. EVERYTHING was perfect. It was the era that put them on the map as one of the best/biggest girlbands in a while. Their performances were next level too and it was a long time since we saw a girl group deliver this caliber of performances! I honestly don't think I can think of another girl group performance that even match their abilities? Not even Destiny's Child.. I'd definitely say they're in *NSync territory in terms of high, slick choreographed performances with great vocals.

'Black Magic' felt like their 'Umbrella'. A massive moment in their pop careers!
I mean 'oops' had more promo from the girls in the UK than the 3 singles that followed
Tbf they had the same as Touch :kink:

They should make "Oops" the fifth single from "Glory Days". That looks like a hit waiting to happen
I love Ooops but with the promo recieved already and sales are well over 120,000 i could not see it doing great in the charts. Their is potential for a fifth single to be a minor hit and it would push the album at a time when interest will decline. I am all for Glory Days outselling Get Weird purely for career progression.
