Is it a case that it would've been out of the top 100 the week they allowed the reset?

Possibly, but more likely that the OCC just ignored that rule because 'Swish Swish' was starting to get pushed as a single so it made perfect sense to manually reset it.

It's a pretty silly rule to have IMO, pleased that they ignored it but they should just ditch the 'must be outside the Top 100' part.

I'll allow zenon to do this week's update but in the meantime here are the songs in this week's top 100 expected to move on to ACR next week:

(14) Rita Ora - Your Song [unless the desperate attempt to keep it on SCR with the iTunes price reduction actually worked, but not sure of the sales]

(17) Jax Jones - Instruction

(25) ALMA - Chasing Highs

(42) Zedd & Liam Payne - Get Low

(46) Kesha - Praying

(60) Duke Dumont & Gorgon City - Real Life

(90) Kendrick Lamar & Rihanna - LOYALTY.

Ooh yay, a few more tracks to slide out of the top 40 *.* Not going to miss any of those too much.

Wait, won't New Rules be on ACR next week?

25/08 45.5k [week 7]

01/08 43.3k [week 8]

08/08 41.4k [week 9]

What did it sell on week 6?

In which case this is the sales week where it will be on its 3rd week of decline and as danG has posted it will be the next sales week where it moves to ACR which will be the chart announced on Friday 22 September.

Seems so premature for Dua, the new rules really don't give slow burners much time to establish themselves do they (even if this track took off pretty quickly, it just didn't enter around the top like a lot of the big smashes do).

This has always been one of my theoretical points. I can see them rejigging the rules again soon.

I fully expect there to be some changes to the rules by January.
I hope so, even if it's just to stop a track that is in the top 10 from going to ACR. The current rules are making a mockery of the chart.

new rules is 59p this week, might climb

Wouldn't that make its fall even greater when it does leave the Top 10 though?

It would but at least it won't make a sudden drop from the top 5. All that is happening at present is tracks dropping from the top 5 to the mid teens and then slowly drifting down the charts. They'd still do the latter but at least they'd be out of the top 10 when they start doing that.

that doesn't really solve the problem though.

as has been said before, the best solution (imo) is to decrease the ratio more gradually as a song hits ACR, starting with a decrease to 1:200, then 1:250 and 1:300

See I'm quite happy for hits to drop out of the top 5 when they hit ACR, I mean the likes of Wild Thoughts, Feels and Unforgettable have all cemented themselves as huge hits anyway so let's give the spotlight to newer tracks. Obviously this makes for a slightly flawed chart but I'm all for more movement and a higher turnover at the top.

been confirmed by the pink fluffy bird that the above are actually still on SCR.
