I think there are probably more questionable songs than Bad Liar on the playlist!

Radio 1 seem to be blanking quite a few tracks right now, including follow-ups to smash hits by The Vamps, Martin Garrix and NEIKED (although of course the last two stand a chance still, they're just taking forever). Hopefully they catch up soon cause I feel like there's quite a large amount of songs that deserve a playlist spot right now.

"smash hits" :kink:

I was referring to their previous hits :kink: All Night, Scared to Be Lonely and Sexual were all smash hits!

Wonder whether Nick Jonas, DNCE or Julia Michaels will ever get added?

I think the DNCE boat has long since sailed but the other two definitely stand a chance! Would be particularly surprised if they ignored Nick J.

Yeah they always seem to support Nick Jonas - in fact Levels gets played all the time still. I'd also expect adds for Bestie by Yungen, Signs by Drake & the new Chainsmokers single in the next few weeks.
No, Reflektor era completely ignored on daytime. Odd but good to see them re-support bands. Think Mystery Jets are the most extreme example, they ignored them for years! Perhaps their new label Sony piled on the pressure!

Yeh the last Mystery Jets era was fantastic. One of my fav albums of last year!

I suppose Pretty Girl is too "cookie cutter" for Radio 1 then, but at this point it doesn't need R1 support when it has Spotify and commercial radio.

What do you mean cookie cutter? :D

Should be set for top 10 this week but R1 would push it up to 7-8.

They've A-listed Camilla Cabello?? Baffled by that decision when they haven't given much support to much more superior pop releases, particularly those that actually showcase artist identity!!

'Crying in the Club' shows a lot of artist identity though!!1!

Sia's artist identity, that is. :basil:

Probably because it's becoming a big hit

All Night was a smash hit?!? When I think of smash hits, I think of Rockabye, Despacito, Shape of You, etc..

Yeah to be fair, All Night had a decent chart run for a non-Top 20 single but I think Joseph was stretching it a bit to call it a smash hit

Oh yeah, it definitely did very well. I'm not sure what sized hit I'd class it as really

Is this due to the whole 'Radio 1 is not distinctive enough from commercial radio' criticism in the press a while ago?

I'd like to see King Kong make A list next week, but I doubt that will happen, I think it will just be a few more weeks on b list and then out.
