Surely it's not than just a bit of streaming news that is giving the song such a huge jump?
1.26 Despacito combined vs 0.56 Wild Thoughts :/

 07. Maggie Lindemann - Pretty Girl

Will this go top 3 once it's added to Radio 1 this week?

 20. Dua Lipa - New Rules

 23. Demi Lovato - Sorry Not Sorry

 55. Selena Gomez - Fetish (ouch)

:re: 69. Kygo - Stole The Show

What's this doing back? I know Apple are really pushing him atm.

Although I like both 'Wild Thoughts' and 'Despacito' equally, I would prefer the latter to remain at #1 as it will actually have sold the most this week (pre manipulation).

What's Stole The Show doing on Hot Songs? re-release?
I think I saw that he's got a film or documentary or something coming up. Apple exclusive if I read correctly
Despacito is SO overexposed. I used to love it, but I'd go as far to say that it's my least favourite song in the top 40. I don't understand why people aren't over it.

Bad Liar had a similar iTunes performance in week 1 didn't it? This has no airplay yet either.

I'm here for 'Despacito' getting another week at #1 *.* It is the #1 on both sales and streams after all... not the kind of song that should be getting targeted by the ACR rules at all.
At least we'll have Louis Tomlinson and potentially Matt Terry next week, even with ACR the charts are looking very boring in the top 20.

It's been 3 weeks

The new song by The Script is amazing.

Also, how can you call Hall Of Fame a crime against music? That is one of their best songs!

I'm a bit late to the thread (busy day yesterday) but I'm here to defend Hall Of Fame too, easily their best song and I'm glad it went to No. 1. Such an uplifting song!

"Standing in the hall of fame, everybody's gonna know my name".

WOW. Inspiring.

What's wrong with that? OK so it might not be the most inspiring or original lyric but there are much worse lyrics than that in even bigger songs (see pretty much Katy Perry's entire back catalogue for example).

I want 'Rain' to smash, just because The Script have so many haters (and also because I quite like the song) :D

a bad lyric is a bad lyric, just because Katy Perry has bad lyrics that doesn't justify everybody can have bad lyrics

Personally Hall of fame is one of the worst #1s in recent times :)

Katy has had a dodgy lyric or two, but I am not accepting her entire back catalogue is worse lyrically than 'Hall of Fame'.

The Script's lyrics pretty much generally are the prime definition of moronic.

but when the entirety of the song is 'you can be the X, you can be the Y' it gets really tedious after a few listens.
