Posted July 17, 20178 yr Welcome one and all to Heat 5. This week we are bringing you entries from Finland, Ireland, Latvia and Spain. We have one of the big 5 as well as perhaps a country that is either viewed as the most hated or the most underrated. So this heat is a proper mixed bag. FINLAND IRELAND LATVIA SPAIN VOTING As normal, voting will be done in the traditional manner of 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point(s). When we reach countries which have less than 10 entries, the number of points will simply reduce accordingly. You must rank each set of entries from the different countries separately. Do not send one ranking with a mixture of all 4 countries. Votes for this heat can be sent via PM to myself before 23:59 Sunday 23th July 2017. The results will be presented the following evening. The top 2 songs from each country will progress to the next round, as well as the next 2 highest ranked entries from across the 4 countries.
July 17, 20178 yr Three fabulous, sometimes almost flawless countries... and Ireland. yes I mean what I say about Latvia, let's hype ESDM, Edurne and Lucia and just BOW before the stunning lineup Finland had prior to 2016.
July 17, 20178 yr I will have to throw my Finnish hype towards Kuunkuiskaajat in particular. Ireland and pre-2014 Latvia though is going to be a slog to listen to.

July 20, 20177 yr Just voted! A surprising top two for me from Latvia but they're the two I enjoy most :lol: Some truly awful entries from them though. In fact all four of these countries have two or three good songs and lots of filler/crap.
July 22, 20177 yr I'm even more disappointed that Spain ruined their amazing odd-year streak with Manel now I've reminded myself of Soraya as well. Don't care beyond my top 2 with Ireland, otherwise these are some rather strong countries. Don't even start hating things until Latvia's 3.

Found Ireland tough to rank because I'm a fan of them all, I think all of them would avoid my bottom 5 if they were Finland or Spain I'm even more disappointed that Spain ruined their amazing odd-year streak with Manel now I've reminded myself of Soraya as well. The three best Spanish entries came from even years though (and I certainly do not mean old Chiki-chiki! The most offensive song from what's on offer this week)
