As we know Take That have had 12 UK #1 singles so out of curiosity if you could re imagine those 12 chart toppers which would you pick?

I'm going to base mine not on popularity at the time but the twelve singles from which they have released I think have been their best 12.

So for me it would have been:

1. A Million Love Songs

2. Pray

3. Relight My Fire

4. Love Ain't Here Anymore

5. Back For Good

6. Never Forget

7. Patience

8. Shine

9. Rule The World

10. Said It All

11. The Flood

12. Love Love

The only one I was torn on was #4 picking one out of Babe, Everything Changes or Love Ain't Here Anymore. I would have narrowed it down to Everything Changes and Love Ain't Here Anymore. I went with the latter as I just feel overall it's the best of those three and under-rated.

Only just realised I have a 50/50 split of the old and the new incarnations!

My selection is based on relevance to their career, the test of time, impact to their career and finally tour reaction. In large "nirvanamusic" you have selected nearly identical to me.

1. A Million Love Songs

2. Pray

3. Relight My Fire

4. Love Ain't Here Anymore

5. Back For Good

6. Never Forget

7. Patience

8. Shine

9. Rule The World

10.Greatest Day

11. The Flood

12. These Days

The others i considered are It Only Takes A Minute and Love Love but for different reasons.

It Only Takes A Minute was the breakthrough song for them, without it, who knows what would have happened as the previous singles flopped badly. This was the song that made me a fan. That said, I Found Heaven was a relatively poor choice to follow it up with and i found it disappointing. Along came A Million Love Songs and it was this song that made my decision to purchase their album. A million love songs is one of their signature songs and is always well received on tours and tv shows which cements why it should be on this list and ahead of It Only Takes A Minute.

Love Love is a solid song that i love listening too. From the Progress and Progressed era it was the best single outside the wonderful The Flood and one of the best songs from that time. I left it off this list as in large it is not a well known Take That song, it does appear popular with fans, it gets a solid welcome on the tours but outside that core base it is an unknown song.

In general, Sure is their only number 1 that i can say didnt deserve it. Yes, it was different from them at the time, but i find it a weak song and i feel Take That feel the same as they rarely perform it. To my understanding it is not one of their biggest selling singles either and was a very disappointing and unreflective lead single for Nodoby Else.

1. Why can't I wake up with you

2. Pray

3. Relight my fire

4. Back for good

5. Never forget

6. Today I've lost you

7. Patience

8. Shine

9. Rule the world

10. The flood

11. These days

12. Let in the sun

While many fans are big fans of Why Cant I Wake Up With you, it is one of their singles i never listen too, i would say the same for Sure. Both these were big hits for them, but 2 of their most unforgettable singles for me.

From my perspective of fans tastes, Sure seems to be a forgotten song. It is not one that is remembered by large.

Why Cant I Wake Up With You, is loved by many fans and not not so liked by others. It has a split opinion. Both are songs that the group themselves seem to by pass a alot as they are not songs that make much a presence on any of their tours from what i remember.

In Britain Sure wasn't viewed as a major success in their catalogue however interestingly enough in Italy it was their HUGE break as previously Babe had reached #22. The song went to #4 however and stayed in the Italian top 10 for 15 weeks. This is their longest top 10 for a single and only year end top 10 single from the 90's.

Sure #4 (15 weeks top 10) Year end: #6 95

BFG #2 (7 weeks top 10) Year end: #28 95

Never Forget #5 (3 weeks top 10) Year end: #53 95

HDIYL #1 (1 week) (9 weeks top 10) Year end: #23 96

Patience #2 (11 weeks top 10) Year end: #8 07

Shine #4 (4 weeks top 10) Year end: #49 07

Rule The World #6 (2 weeks top 10) Year end: #47 07

The Flood #2 (4 weeks top 10) Year end: #29 10

Sure finished the 6th biggest selling single of 1995 in Italy and is very much remembered there unlike it is in other countries perhaps.

It is very interesting and possibly baffling how Sure is a far bigger hit in Italy and all their other classics. It really does show how tastes vary from country to country.

1. Could It Be Magic

2. Relight My Fire

3. Everything Changes

4. Back For Good

5. Never Forget

6. Patience

7. Rule The World

8. Greatest Day

9. The Flood

10. Love Love

11. Cry

12. Giants

Cry is not a song i expected to see on anyone's list. It is good to see the variation as it shows the different styles they have presented us with are, at the least, liked by some of the fans.

The orignal 12 #1 single owe.

Besides, Rule The world and The Flood shall be a #1 single.

Rule The World and The Flood seem to be the most popular choices for everyone.
I do like Cry, it's got something to it
