October 28, 20177 yr LMAO Mollie and AJ are never going to be Frankie and Kevin. Mollie isn't going to do as well as Frankie which is a given. AJ is a fab partner, Mollie just doesn't have the edge that the frontrunners have
October 28, 20177 yr People often vote for the dancers too, not just the celebs. Anton du Beke for some reason has a loyal fanbase amongst the older women who always vote for him, allowing him to sail through the first few weeks no matter what. I think Kevin has now built a fanbase too after being runner up for the past three years. I’ve only watched Mollie’s performance tonight and, quite frankly, it really was poor. I think having AJ as a partner will/is letting her down if she was aiming for the win. She needed a more experienced favourite.
October 28, 20177 yr Her weakness is that she just can't seem to deliver a very good Latin. These are the ones people rave about. Almost all the frontrunners this season have set themselves apart with either a Paso Doble or a Charleston. (And it's exactly why Frankie started to stale halfway through the competition because she struggled with the Latin (while Caroline didn't) and was only delivering very good Ballroom numbers.) I've said it already but Mollie missed her chance. She needed to deliver a wow performance in about Week 4. Even if she followed it through with a more "mediocre" performance, the judges would have pushed the "journey" angle. Instead it's Gemma who's done it. We're moving into Week 7 now, if she gets a Ballroom number next Saturday, she might be safe as I reckon she will do well, but I doubt she will set herself apart like she needs to, and if she gets a Latin, she could end up just recreating another Salsa/Cha Cha Cha instead of a proper moment.
October 28, 20177 yr Author If Mollie scores very low next week I could see her going sadly, but I don't think that will happen. They managed a 27 with a serious hurdle this week, so that makes me think they are improving and could get back above 30 next week.
October 28, 20177 yr The sad thing is that young good looking females often struggle to get votes in Strictly, and I suppose it was a matter of time before it happened to Mollie with her mediocre leaderboard positions and early performance slots. :( We should campaign like we did for Electric and that got to #1006 so she might get 1006 votes next week. ;o She just needs to do a killer dance, I'm sure she'll get a bottom two boost next week like Davood and even Simon did first time round but if not she could be there again pretty soon :(
October 28, 20177 yr I think she might get a wake up call from this as well. It might push her to work even harder. She certainly needs to, if she wants to keep herself in the race. But more importantly I hope some of the public starts voting for her, realizing she's not safe. I could see her using a few stops in her VT next week. Probably her dyslexia (visiting children in school?) or other charities she's done with the band.
October 28, 20177 yr I agree she's missed her chance, if you look at Gemma for example who was below Mollie week 1, she's really improved and had a moment with her Paso, the judges keep noting her passion and how she's imprving. Mollie has yet to have a terrible week, but she's stagnating for me and then this week was a bit of a dip for me. But it was understandable with AJ ill, they didn't have the same practice time as the others as she was training with Patrick or whoever it was :drama: She should be fine for 2 or 3 weeks but i can't see her lasting beyond that, which is about where I expected her to land.
October 29, 20177 yr I hope she makes it to Blackpool. It would be nice if she came back guns blazing and the judges had nothing but to praise the amazing comeback, etc...but I honestly doubt she has it in her. Still, she knew the second she finished her dance that she was going to be in the dance-off (you can see the video on Twitter/Instagram), so she's probably being really hard on herself right now. I have a feeling Mollie will start rehearsing tomorrow whatever next dance she's doing to get as much training as possible.

In any show when contestants are bottom two they more often than not don’t last much longer. I wish my recent optimism could continue but its a wake up call indeed.
October 29, 20177 yr Guys please be wary with posts about Strictly results as the show doesn't air until 7pm GMT.
October 29, 20177 yr The choreo for he dance on Saturday was terrible. I blame AJ for the poor dance not her.
October 29, 20177 yr Author The Twitterverse is LIVID about them being in the dance off. This might have just secured them a few more weeks in the competition actually  One person even equated this to "kicking puppies" :heehee: The look on their faces is pretty heartbreaking though https://twitter.com/bbcstrictly/status/924720062279376896
October 29, 20177 yr Is anyone surprised she’s in the bottom after lost time rehearsing? I don’t understand the blinded stanning of Twitter tbf.

October 29, 20177 yr Indeed. I saw a comment that AJ just dances around her in a circle and its so true! It was just so...basic? She’s capable of so much more but it’s like they gave her choreo Susan or Simon would have.
October 29, 20177 yr AJ probably couldn't muster up a good routine with his sickness and he probably prefered the routine to be simple so that Mollie could learn it in time for Saturday, considering she was going to have less rehearsing time than usual. It happens. Even beyond the (boring) routine, the props and theme actually worked AGAINST them this week. -_- The total opposite of what Gemma did in Week 3 (Movie Week) and what I was hoping for with Halloween Week. At some point in the performance, AJ put the pitchfork towards her so she can grab it, but she barely has enough place to put her hands in there. In fact, in the DANCE-OFF when they did the routine again, she literally CAN'T put her hand in there. You see her barely holding it. There's another part in the routine where she does some sort of Cha Cha run/chase to grab the pitchfork (AJ is holding it but takes it away in a "cheeky way"), but she just looks like she's stepping on her own feet, thus can't grab the pitchfork in time, and AJ has to move on with the routine....but it's actually just part of the actual choreography (the whole concept is that they are trying to steal the pitchfork from one another....................) ... It was just messy. I thought AJ's choreography for last week's VW was actually the best of the night, and a lot of people agreed on the internet, but this week, it was just boring. On the other hand, you've got people like Katya and Aljaz being very original (Katya moreso than Aljaz), so their "middler contestants" benefit a lot more from it. I don't want to put it on AJ's back because Mollie is quite honestly really "middling" at the moment, she needs to bring her game the f*** up, but AJ has done a poor job this week.
October 30, 20177 yr Posted on her Insta story saying thanks for all the messages and that it’s onwards and upwards with a foxtrot!
October 30, 20177 yr She'll be fine now. She's really lucky she was in the bottom 2 early on with one of the duffers. If it had been a week or two later and she'd been against Gemma, Joe or even Davood she might have been the first "shock" eliminee. Instead, someone with possibly higher scores than her generally might make their way out first, as the first "shocker" in the next few weeks.
October 30, 20177 yr Just watched this weeks episodes and her dance was really not exciting at all and felt very lazy, I think the score was fair. She needs to step her nuny up!
