Female top 5 singles popping up left right and centre

It's almost as if the drought in female solo hit singles was due to the fact there weren't any around that were sufficiently '2017 big hit single' sounding until the last couple of weeks, rather than some kind of institutionalised bias against females... :P

omg...she is untouchable.

Well she is completely touchable because if Adele released the debut would be bigger everywhere so.

Rather than untouchable

I think her label has bought her the spotify @1

By making an agreement with Spotify so she returns to Spotify

But they place her as song 1 from day 1 in all imaginable lists

Love Taylor but wish she was achieving it on merit with normal placing on lists + with a better song

Oh please that old chestnut

She wasn't on Spotify people don't like it

She on Spotify she buying a number 1

That's just ridiculous

And I don't think she put her back catalogue on Spotify to get automatic top adds other artists have been number 1 on top playlists on day 1 and not beeen accused of buying a number 1

Is it seriously hard to believe she getting bigger even though she didn't release much in 2016 she was never far from headlines

Besides if streaming didn't exist and no artist were on Spotify she probably would still have a chance because people would get it another way

Wrong.

Sheeple listen to ANYTHIING the record labels tell them to/ whatever the 'in' sound/ singer is.

Stick her on the top of lists and she will be streamed over and over - not becauae of the song, but because she is in the lists AT THE TOP, that people mindlessly play.

Do not think that turgid aong did it alone

I think a decent proportion of the 600k figure was people just checking it out. The chart not updating till like 5pm can't have helped either
Yeah I had a feeling she might have dropped a fair bit today. She should stabilise from now on, hopefully anyway!

Taylor Swift second day drop has been pretty extreme all over the world. It seems like it'll be overtaken by "Mi Gente" on the global charts pretty soon.

"Look What You Made Me Do" will do well and hit #1 in the US/UK/Australia but it won't be a smash hit. It's far away from #1 in most of the world and the drop worldwide has been much more drastic than with "Shape with You" (which was #1 in much more countries).
