It's literally Gaga 'Fame'/'Fame Monster' era levels of goodness. Fantastic video. Joseph Khan is a God.

the video is obviously A FEAST FOR THE EYES (as expected from a joseph kahn directed video with a lot of money thrown at it) buttt...she clearly suffers with some sort of narcasistic personality disorder...every detail god back to her and how she's been hard done by and how she's obviously great. it's WEIRD and she's going all self parody / pity and idk what to think

This. It's just kinda sad that she couldn't just have a lead that WASN'T sneaking in shade at every possible moment.

They certainly put a lot of effort in that video :o :heart:

Yeah, that's my only complaint, I just wish she wasn't dragging up the old feuds again.

While visually appealing, the video is actually making me really dislike her as a person. I'm amazed at how much my opinion of her has changed in the space of a couole of days. It looked like she was going to acknowledge her reputation and throw a middle finger and prove them wrong but she's just proved everyone right and then taken that and run with it.

She comes off as a petulant little brat. "oh look at me i'm such a victim" "look at all the bad things people have done to me" but then goes and (not even subtly) throws shade like there's no tomorrow.

The I <3 TS shirt, the obvious nods to Katy and Kimye etc. the tombstone with the name she used for that Calvin track, it's all really pathetic and does nothing to change the general perception of her.

 

The way she killed off old Taylor's really felt like "yeah this girl who used to be likeable? gone" AKA the Taylor that people actually warmed to and who got her to where she is now. It's like she feels she is better than them now.

 

And the really scary thing is that people will heap praise on her for being so brave or standing up for herself but at the same time tear down Katy/Kimye for doing similar, but less obvious, things. It takes two to tango, Taylor is the one now carrying on these feuds and using them to fuel her career. It's a smokescreen to cover the fact that the song itself is utter garbage.

 

I miss the Taylor who sang about prince son her guitar and went to award shows dressed like she came from a Disney movie.

the song itself is tuneless and kind of melody free and not very good, like it's super unlistenable and she's slowly drifting into very unpleasant territory...like she's not some sort of hard done by victim and the worlds not against her; she really needs to stop placing her artistic licence and musicality around her narcassism and self-perceived slights...
