I’m surprised at how fast it is falling too but I think the single wasn’t chosen on how much buzz it could bring rather than it being the album’s strongest song. Ready For It could end up having much more longevity.

I'm not surprised. It was pretty obvious from first listen this is not another SIO or BS or an album seller for that matter and neither is 'Ready for It'. She will still do very well 'cause she's Taylor Swift but she is underperforming for her standard.

 

Discounting in the US is a smart idea because otherwise there's no way she would've been #1 in the coming week either.

It's back in the top 10 uk luckily, I get what people are saying about it not seeming like the huge hit needed for a lead as sch whilst I love it but I really think RFI will remedy that and stick around a lot longer once the album is out and it gets going etc., especially with a video that really sells it like LWYMMD.

Yep, did for me too. I think once the thrill of the video and the sass of the song wore off, there was just little substance left to keep the interest going. I still love the mash-up with 'Toxic' though - giving it that exciting pop production gives it that energy back.
