August 20, 20177 yr The Nights and Hey Brother are my two high-scorers left. I can see them being a bit higher fortunately, but they were definitely the worst of my 10s
August 20, 20177 yr Knew Pete would like The Days! I feel like our faves will be in sync for much of this countdown (the same seems to apply for Broken Arrows, out far too early :(), I had a feeling this wouldn't do very well but it's a bloody tune to my ears
August 20, 20177 yr No major casulaties for me so far. For A Better Day was such a poor effort from him imo, shame to see the success of that era dented by that. X You is an amazing instrumental  That was released between the mega-hits of I Could Be The One & Wake Me Up so was really gutted to see it miss the top 40. The production of that is the Avicii I love. The Days was one I didn't really get at first but I do like rehearing it, still say The Nights edges it but they are both strong tracks. Broken Arrows was a bit meh for me... In general my fave track of his tends to vary year on year, last year it would have been ICBTO, maybe before it was Levels but right now it's Seek Bromance so obviously hoping for a good result for that!
August 20, 20177 yr Nothing really bothering me yet, but I would have liked to have seen The Days a bit higher, especially above broken arrows which is one of avicii's worst for me tbh
August 20, 20177 yr I loved Pure Grinding & For A Better Day when they were first released but listening to them now - well they haven't aged great. Big shame that The Days was a flop, an official release could've gotten both Avicii & Robbie another hit. Top 5 Predictions (in no particular order) - I Could Be The One - Levels - Wake Me Up - Hey Brother - The Nights
August 21, 20177 yr When I did the Avicii competition on my chart channel, Waiting For Love was the clear winner. Although I'd be surprised if Levels didn't win this here
August 21, 20177 yr Author 15. "Collide" (with Leona Lewis) Artwork: Rate average: 6.53 Best score: 10/10 (jafetsigfinns), 9.5/10 (Spadz), 9/10 (lewistgreen, gooddelta) Worst score: 1/10 (Cucumberella) Release date: 22/08/2011 UK Chart peak: #4 Album: non-album single Video: E4a82LRNdlQ Biography: "Collide" is a song performed by British recording artist Leona Lewis and Swedish DJ and record producer Avicii. It was written by Tim Berg, Simon Jeffes, Arash Pournouri, Autumn Rowe, Sandy Wilhelm, with production helmed by Wilhelm under his production name Sandy Vee and The Young Boys. "Collide" is a house inspired love song, that's instrumentation consists of piano riffs and a guitar. The song was recorded for Lewis' third studio album Glassheart, but was not included on the album's final track listing. Upon the release of the single, Avicii claimed that Lewis and her record label, Syco, had sampled his song "Penguin" without his authorisation, and accused them of plagiarism. Before the lawsuit was filed by Avicii and his record label reach the high court, Syco announced that the song would be a joint release between Lewis and Avicii. The song premiered in the United Kingdom on 15 July 2011 and was sent to Australian radio on 22 August 2011. "Collide" was released digitally via the iTunes Store on 2 September, as part of a collection of the original song, as well as remixes by Afrojack, Cahill, Alex Gaudino and Jason Rooney. The Afrojack remix is included as a bonus track on the deluxe edition of Glassheart. "Collide" received a mixed reaction from music critics. Some were complimentary of Lewis's vocal performance and compared it to Katy Perry's song "Firework", whilst others were critical of its musical structure. The song achieved commercial success, and peaked inside the top five of the singles charts in Ireland, Scotland and the United Kingdom. It also peaked at number one on the US Dance Club Songs chart. As part of promotion for the song, an accompanying music video was shot on a beach in Malibu, California and directed by Ethan Ladder. Lewis also performed the song on the game show Red or Black? and at London nightclub G-A-Y, along with other songs. At the 2012 Grammy Awards, the Afrojack remix was nominated for Best Remixed Recording. Commentary: I'm not really all that keen on this song, I mean it's okay but pointless when 'Penguin'/'Fade Into Darkness' exists and I'm glad that the Avicii fans on this forum have rated 'Fade' above this. I was also very annoyed at the label ripping this song off without Avicii's permission, but thankfully they settled eventually and Avicii got an official credit, giving him his first UK top ten hit single. Of course he'd go on to have even bigger hits since but this was a good way of getting his name out in the UK. I rate it a 6/10.
August 21, 20177 yr Author 14. "Lay Me Down" Artwork: Rate average: 6.56 Best score: 10/10 (Tawdry Hepburn) Worst score: 1/10 (Cucumberella) Release date: 13/09/2013 (alongside 'True') / 21/04/2014 (as a single) UK Chart peak: #200 Album: True Video: ISiGtxsN5d0 Biography: "Lay Me Down" is a song by Swedish producer Avicii. Written by Avicii, Ash Pournouri, Nile Rodgers and Adam Lambert, the track appears on Avicii's debut studio album, True (2013). American singer-songwriter Adam Lambert also provides vocals for the track, while Nile Rodgers provides guitar backing. The track was released as the fifth single from his album on April 21, 2014. The song is featured in a 2014 commercial for Lipton Ice Tea. The music video shows Avicii performing the song live during his True Tour. However, Adam Lambert and Nile Rodgers does not appear in the video. The song is written in the key of A Minor. Commentary: This one doesn't do a whole lot for me and is one of my least favourite Avicii singles, again getting just a 6/10 from me. I was very disappointed that this was chosen as the final single to be lifted from 'True' instead of a "Dear Boy" release, which probably would have charted higher than #200 provided it was given an official radio edit to download and stream (which it still doesn't have though there are fan-made ones on YouTube). Unsurprisingly it is the lowest single from 'True' in this rate, the other four will be appearing in the top 10 but will any of them win?
August 21, 20177 yr Lay Me Down was a bizarre single choice when he could have picked Liar Liar, which is a huge tune, and would have been a small hit at least.
August 21, 20177 yr Lay Me Down was a bizarre single choice when he could have picked Liar Liar, which is a huge tune, and would have been a small hit at least. Disagree entirely.
August 21, 20177 yr Author 13. "My Feelings For You" (with Sebastien Drums) Artwork: Rate average: 7.22 Best score: 10/10 (lewistgreen), 9/10 (danG, gavindeejay, Dobbo, HarryEzra, Mack) Worst score: 1/10 (cqmerqn) Release date: 13/12/2010 UK Chart peak: #46 Album: non-album single Video: QHQ_YWRvhVQ Biography: "My Feelings for You" is a 2010 track by DJs Avicii and Sebastien Drums, which is a remix of an original made by Cassius, a French house band, which released on Astralwerks in 1999. The single was released in the United Kingdom on 13 December 2010 as a digital EP with additional remixes, as well as an additional remix EP. The vocals are sampled from "All This Love That I'm Giving" by Gwen McCrae. The vocal samples taken are reminiscent of those used by Cassius in "Feeling For You". After the single's official release in the United Kingdom, it started to receive strong amount of downloads and on 19 December 2010, charted at no. 46 on the UK Singles Chart and no. 4 on the UK Dance Chart, which were also the songs peak positions on those charts. Commentary: "My Feelings For You" is the first song I gave a 9/10 to that drops out, I am reasonably pleased with its finish though especially as it is one of his earlier and lesser known commercial singles. It was the first song of his to chart in the UK under the name Avicii and it is also the only single from Sebastien Drums to chart. It's a really good song though, and as much as I love his new stuff I do miss his progressive house club bangers such as this. It deserved a lot better in the official chart too.
August 21, 20177 yr Author Lay Me Down was a bizarre single choice when he could have picked Liar Liar, which is a huge tune, and would have been a small hit at least. hell no. Liar Liar would have flopped even harder. he should've gone for Dear Boy.
August 21, 20177 yr hell no. Liar Liar would have flopped even harder. he should've gone for Dear Boy.this x1000. By far my favourite album track of his. It could have done really well in the charts if he released it I think. Hope There's Someone could have done quite well too I think, although it does have that kind of 'album track' feel to it. My predictions all right so far :cheer:
August 21, 20177 yr Author 12. "Fade Into Darkness" Artwork: Rate average: 7.25 Best score: 11/10 (Dexton), 10/10 (Spadz), 9/10 (gavindeejay, Dobbo) Worst score: 2/10 (Alpha) Release date: 16/07/2011 UK Chart peak: #196 Album: non-album single Video: FwikBFYvhtU Biography: "Fade into Darkness" is a song by Swedish house producer and DJ Avicii. It features uncredited vocals from Andreas Moe. The single was released on 16 July 2011. The song incorporates elements from "Perpetuum Mobile" by Penguin Cafe Orchestra, as written by Simon Jeffes. Prior to its release, the song was referred to as "Penguin," which was solely an instrumental track, unlike the following lyrical version. Commentary: Good to see this finish above "Collide" and by a significant number, although even in this version it isn't a proper standout of Avicii's discography for me. I gave it a 7/10.
August 21, 20177 yr Disagree entirely. Think I must be biased then ;) it's my favourite from True that wasn't a single.
August 21, 20177 yr Author 11. "The Nights" Artwork: Rate average: 7.53 Best score: 10/10 (Spadz, mdh, Pete), 9/10 (BridgeCow) Worst score: 5/10 (Tawdry Hepburn, Alpha) Release date: 01/12/2014 UK Chart peak: #6 Album: Stories (UK only) Video: UtF6Jej8yb4 Biography: "The Nights" is a song by Swedish DJ and music producer Avicii. It features uncredited vocals by Nicholas "RAS" Furlong, who co-wrote the song with Jordan Suecof, Gabriel Benjamin, and John Feldmann. On 1 December 2014, it was released as a digital download by PRMD Music and Universal Island on Avicii's The Days / Nights, then on 11 January 2015 in the United Kingdom. The song peaked at number 6 on the UK Singles Chart and number 1 on the UK Dance Chart. On 23 January 2015, Avicii released "The Nights (Avicii by Avicii)", his own remix of the song. The song appears on the UK version of Avicii's second studio album Stories (2015). Commentary: Not my favourite of Avicii's mega-hits, and not Buzzjack's as a whole either as it surprisingly just misses the top 10. Nonetheless it is a great song though I prefer Avicii's own remix of this myself. The song's lyrics are about vocalist Ras' own experiences with life and written as an ode to his father, which fit in well with Avicii's signature folk inspired dance sound although I think "Wake Me Up" and "Hey Brother" pull of this sound far better. The song got an 8/10 from me. The top 10 will be revealed at a later date. For now here it is in alphabetical order. xx Addicted To You xx Hey Brother xx I Could Be The One (with Nicky Romero) xx Levels xx Rapture (Avicii New Generation Remix) (with Nadia Ali) xx Seek Bromance (as Tim Berg) xx Silhouettes xx Waiting For Love xx Wake Me Up xx You Make Me Which of these will just miss the top 5? Which are the big contenders? What would you like to see do well?
August 21, 20177 yr Very happy that Fade Into Darkness beat Collide. The only redeeming factor of Collide was the fact it sampled Avicii. Shame that FID isn't even Top 10 though  My all time Avicii favourite (with a few close runner ups of course) Surprised that The Nights isn't Top 10 either, although Avicii's single discography is quite the goldmine so at least it was 11th
