I'm assuming Emma's new album will boost its streaming and a few extra downloads. Plus obviously the Spice girls tour might boost their solo stuff as well.

 

Also we know for a long while Emma's music was missing from iTunes and spotify. So its sales from 2009 till 2016 would have been hit hard. Thankfully all her music has been on Spotify and itunes the last couple of years.

 

Yes this! I wonder how much it has impacted on sales, though probably not that much, a couple thousand across the board maybe (and that is me being generous). I agree though that it is very good she is on itunes/spotfy finally. Still a few things missing from her itunes pages (and shit that she has two pages rather than one). Really hope they upload the remaining singles (What Took You So Long, Take My Breath Away, I'll Be There Cd2, Free Me....) but we gotta keep requesting them ah

From memory it was Free Me that was missing (for a length of time I can’t remember, the receipts would have been on DenDen forum, tut... but it’s been available again here for quite a few years now), and then A Girl Like Me disappeared for a brief moment maybe a couple of years ago.

 

I’d say at this stage that Life in Mono would likely require 5k - 5.5k sales to get to 60k. Bear in mind from Oct 2016 to Dec 2018, Northern Star sold less than 2k, and that included Feb 2018 and Nov 2018 “reunion boosts”.

 

All of their solo albums are poorly streamed & don’t sell well. I don’t think the Spice tour & Emma’s solo return will be enough to see her sell 5k+ of Life in Mono in the space of a year, unfortunately.

I'm sure life in mono was missing for a long time. I swear for a long time it was only girl like me on iTunes, the issue was obviously 19 not bothering with adding either of her albums released by them.

Life in Mono got to #36 in the Album Downloads chart in the week of its release :kink:

Greatest Hits climbed 1 place to #148 today! Total sales - 572,620.

 

It re-enters the Albums Sales chart at #94 (13th week), and re-enters the Physicals Albums chart at #99 (24th week).

52nd week incoming next week hopefully i.e. a year's worth of chart placements! It's been a long time coming :drama: I'm glad that the GH is building up a more respectable looking chart run; I'm hoping that it'll remain in the Top 200 for the majority of this year.

Yeah it's chart run ( and to be honest, its sales....) has always been a down point. Such a massive group should be selling their GH like hot cakes but here we are lol.. Im glad it has finally achived a decent number of weeks in the charts 🙏🏼 Hope it does continue to build on it, looks promising to linger in the bottom 150-200 for a while at least...

 

Also, I genuinely thought that it would be selling around the 200-300 by now, in such lower positions. Glad to see it is around the 1000 mark at least. Seems nice for a GH that has zero promotion to it..

At the moment it takes 800+ sales to make the Top 200! It's very inflated from streams though.

 

To be #100 in the official charts chart this week required about 1,250 sales. Comparatively, less than 450 sales was needed to be #100 in the album sales chart (physicals & downloads), while only around 360 sales to be #100 in the physical albums chart!

 

This week, Spice Girls Greatest Hits sold 365 cds, 88 downloads & 530 units from streaming, to make 983 overall.

What is a bit frustrating is they have social media now and streaming is so important and social media haven't tweeted etc links to streaming the GH on spotify and Apple music.

It is what all artists do. Frankly I'd prefer a tweet like 'Sorting out the setlist lots of songs to choose from' and a link to their Spotify or 'Which of our hits would you have start the shows?' and a link to the greatest hits than the constant throw back pics or silly fan art they keep posting.

Oh GOD this!! Their social media accounts - across the 3 platforms - are so embarassing with constant throw backs only. Boring. Wish they would do better with that, make it more interactive and fun, with links to the GH and their albums.

 

Like, they could do more with their albums on their social media - tweet about random facts of the albums with links to their iTunes/Amazon pages, etc.

 

Also their website REALLY needs to be revamped.
