It surprises me that Spiceworld the Movie didn't re-enter the DVD chart in 2007 when it was re-released with the 10th anniversary edition. So it seems that version flopped? :o Oops! Cool to see that the movie was the 9th best selling video of 1998.

 

One Hour of Girl Power really was huge to spend so many weeks at #1 in the overall Video chart, i.e. outselling movies in 10 different weeks - that's major! Which makes it seem bizarre that they didn't appear to consider following it up with a Volume 2. Surely that would have been a no brainer for Christmas 1997. One Hour of Girl Power was the 5th best selling video of 1997.

 

Live at Wembley Stadium comes across to me as being a bit of an underperformance? I know the Music Video chart run was lengthy, but not even managing to make it into the Top 5 best sellers of the week in that chart was a big comedown. I just looked at what outsold them - videos by Cats, Michael Flatley, Cameron Mackintosh, Boyzone, Cliff Richard... damn!

 

I see that In America - A Tour Story had pretty limited appeal too.

 

As for Forever More they pretty much needn't have bothered lol. I assume those re-entries in 2001/2002 were because of price cuts.

 

 

 

Geri Yoga... interesting to see at that point that VHS was very much still the favoured format over DVD. Quite a decent success with 5 months in the overall video chart including some weeks Top 10. But the follow up only managed 1 week in the Top 100, so that was a case of diminishing returns.

 

Didn't realise that The Real Beckhams didn't really set the world alight lol.

That Black Magic manufactured Cowell pap is DIRE. It also sounds like an early Spice Girls demo, ans ir wouldn't surprise me if it was and it was too cheesy for them to release!!! :rofl: Steps-level cheese, not even Steps-lite!!! And rbh Steps pop has a tiny bit more edge than that! So if ot ever "overtakes" via fake streams - not sales, although everyonr has forgotten about the Cowell band alrwady, except from the salty mixers. They didn't exavtly leave a lasting impression or legacy - then not only will it be fake, but it may as well be a VERY EARLY Spice Girls sang anyway! Do we know who wrote it or if they got it out the vaults?? Wouldn't surprise me one bit if the Wpicy Ladies actually wrote it.

Big up the Welsh charts in particular for BRINGING BACK iconic songs such as Crickets Sing For AnaMaria, Holler and What I Am over the last year :wub:

 

Do we know why/how come those made it up the singles charts in Wales recently??? Seems quite random lol maybe some stores had left over CDs and sold them on discount that week? Something similar happened with Ride It right?

I think that's the only reason I can think of, like random independent music stores still having copies and someone finally deciding to buy them? :lol: There's a possibility that #37 in Wales only requires 1 sale, perhaps. I think I read some time ago that the chart is ordered by how early on in the week a copy was bought. :thinking:

Ride It re-entered at 100 on the physical chart because an indie shop found a good stack of picture discs and sold them on Amazon on the cheap.
