Amazing update and incredible to see they possibly have 5 “millionaires” now just like the five girls are 🤣.

In fact going by that update Mama / Who do you think you are could also be over the million mark!

Stop’s growth in popularity is incredible to see can see it eventually overtaking WDYTYA and Goodbye!

  • We have a new update for Wannabe from the Official Charts Company, it's now on 2,740,000! Source: https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/spice-girls-reunion-world-tour/ Last update we had was 2,40

Sadly I don't think any of their studio albums will reach those targets any time soon. To the point we might not see it happen until the 2040s, lol, unless a reunion gives their music a very impactful

It's true! No Scrubs took just 90 weeks to improve from 4xPlatinum to 5xPlatinum. It seems like it might "sell" double what Wannabe does each week. I suppose it's all down to heavy playlisting to go

You wouldn’t be the first to sleep around for spice girls material :kink:

Listen, I would do the same. Get me on Biff's radar asap!! :teresa:

Estimates!

Please don't consider these to be accurate though. It's all based on older figures and then working out what these singles could be selling on a weekly basis on average. It can't take into account random boosts in popularity, for instance Spice Up Your Life when the Barbie film was new.

July 2024

2,587,200 - Wannabe

1,477,400 - 2 Become 1

1,281,000 - Spice Up Your Life

1,243,800 - Say You'll Be There

999,500 - Goodbye (!)

984,900 - Mama/Who Do You Think You Are

874,900 - Stop

874,200 - Viva Forever

777,200 - Too Much

339,300 - Holler/Let Love Lead the Way

65,500 - Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)

So Goodbye might be around 1,000,000 by now (how annoying that we're unlikely to get confirmation, unless they do an article for it in December). It seems that Stop might have recently overtaken Viva Forever.

None of these are close to new certification levels (200k/400k/600k/1.2m/1.8m/2.4m/3m) so unfortunately we won't be getting to know new totals via certifications for a while. I'd say the most likely next certification will be Wannabe going 5xPlatinum (3m sales), that should happen way before Holler gets to Gold (400k).

Funny to think that in the physical sales era, Wannabe was only around 100k ahead of 2 Become 1's total, now it could be 1.1m ahead.

Thank you Jay!!

Amazing numbers, and I would hope that maybe Stop and Spice Up your Life, both of which went viral last year, did pick up a bit more then so they might even be a bit higher?... Amazing numbers for Stop! What a classic :cheer:

Goodbye and Viva Forever to go over 1million ASAP PLEASE!!

Absolutely WILD to me that Holler isnt even on Gold status!!! Bloody fascist England :teresa: They have no taste at all. Holler should be well over 1million by now

Wow! Thank you Jay ❣️🙏

There is the possibility of having sales estimates for their solo careers too?

I couldn’t say for definite but… :kink:

Lolol spreading some disinformation hun :teresa:

The story goes (from Elliott himself) that someone called pretending to be Simon Fuller's office and told him that they were looking at getting the songs together for a new release. So Elliott sent them to that person, who then sold them and then they got leaked...

It is also the reason why the girls and their team seemingly fell out with Elliott and why he wasnt involved with them during the Spice25 or Spiceworld25 eras either.

Elliott didnt also work on Spiceworld era either, and then went on to bitch about Darkchild producing most of the Forever album and the mix of Right Back At Ya that ended up on the album...

It's a sad story

Wouldn’t they have needed to go through Eliot to get the versions of Say You’ll Be There on Spice 25

The above scenario is apparently how the 1999 era tracks leaked, but it’s a different story for Song for Her and Man on the Mountain 🫢

Oh really??? :teresa: Please tell! Is the Song of Her/Man on the Mountain leak the reason they fell out? I thought it was because of the 1999 tracks

On 15th November, Greatest Hits had some chart action (not in the main album chart though) and it was due to the Yoto card:

#90 - Official Physical Albums Chart

#97 - Official Albums Sales Chart

^ It marked the first time it had been Top 100 in either chart since 20th March 2020 which is when the black vinyl was released. However the slight boost in physical sales wasn't enough for the album to re-enter the official main albums chart Top 200.

Cute. Do we know if there would be a way to figure out how much it sold to reach those? They seem quite low, so probably not a lot...

I wouldn't be too surprised if low Top 100 in those charts is less than 300 sales!

Looks like it was a good week for sales of the Yoto card (and hopefully a few CDs/Vinyl  ) because Greatest Hits is back in these charts:

#54 - Physicals

#55 - Sales

Let's hope that this physical boost, alongside reasonable streaming units, is enough for it to re-enter the Top 200? If it did, it would be the album's first time in the Top 200 since October 2021.

It's really quite ridiculous that it's not a constant presence in the top 200 when there are all those other Greatest Hits albums constantly in it. You'd think a band with so many huge hits and who are such a presence of the music and culture of the 90's, would be up there too!

Finally Greatest Hits has managed to reenter the UK Top 200. It’s at #158 this week! No idea about sales total unfortunately.
