But we're yet to see how she fares on streaming (which "Friends" did and continues to do well on. Pink had a 60% lead in her debut week for a while IIRC and she only debuted at No. 5 thanks to less-than-stellar streaming results.

Not saying she definitely won't take the No. 1 spot but I'm gonna wait and see how the Spotify chart looks tomorrow before I make any bets.

With her being #1 on the Hot Hits UK playlist (which essentially dictates the Spotify chart), it's fair to assume she's not gonna struggle on streaming.

Taylor is getting massive dark red updates :eyes:
She still as over a 60% lead on new rules which is the only song she needs to beat, I am sure her streams will be decent and the music video is coming Sunday. I am sure after weekend it will stable out for her on itunes. Still think she will be #1 officially.
New Rules sold 45k in total last week, Taylor will easily suprass that number this week.

True she is outselling dua 3 to 1 currently and although pink is creeping up wherever Taylor debuts on Spotify is highly likely to be higher than pink with all her playlist adds its whether she debuts high enough to threaten dua

Although if Taylor didn't get nber 1 pink would be a good substitute

Could we even get a cheeky female top 3

Taylor will get some hefty drops as the massive sudden sales she got in the first few hours are downweighted, I'm sure she'll stabilise with whatever she's on this time tomorrow.
Taylor's song is probably one that would do better on streaming than sales. The general consensus of those who like it is that its not bad but she's had better. Perhaps those people would listen to it for free on Spotify but wouldn't be willing to spend money on it because they frankly don't like it enough.
This there's nothing about it that makes me instantly dislike it like some songs and if released by another artist I probably would have liked it more. But as a fan of Taylor from the beginning (well fearless but also have and enjoy the TS album) she has had plenty of stronger songs that deserve better recognition but I don't dislike LWYMMD
Tooold you :coffee:

Told us what? That Taylor would get some dark red updates? I think my 90 year old nan could have guessed that!

No, that it wouldn't be as big as y'all were making out. I think it will miss no.1 or at the veery lrast struggle, as I have bern saying all week.
You're deluding yourself if you think Taylor is going to struggle to make #1 this week. She could sell only 45k and would still go to #1. She's likely to sell that amount on downloads alone, and she has streaming this time too.

This is spot on - it happens to any new release by an established act. The degree of the decline tends to vary though, it wasn't big for P!nk as her appeal is more widespread but Taylor certainly has a fanbase, and those initial buys are being factored out now. Her nearest competition for the official #1, Dua, is still on 0.38. There's no doubt that she'll be #1 imo.

I'm so fed up of people calling flop for big artists because they don't get to number 1 fast enough, don't get to number 1 or don't have a lead as big as they could have. It happened last week with Bieber, people neglecting to remember it is just a feature, and now because Taylor has had one red update the song is going to flop... As has been said, she's one of those who'll sell TONNES first day but she can't keep that up forever so after that initial boost it is gonna fall a bit. When Dua is still on 0.38 you cannot say it's flopping and won't make be a number 1 :drama:
