It's like saying Demi Lovato is on the same level of criminality as Chris Brown cause she punched her backup dancer that one time.

It isn't really. Chris Brown has still done tonnes of shady shit and had law troubles since. Cheryl had one mistake and has stayed out of trouble since, she has learned and moved on as he has stumbled from one mistake to another for many years.
