16. Do It Well | Brave | Avg.7.483

Highest Scores: 10: (Davidson, Regina), 9: (Jack, all is vanity, PAJ88, Mack, StillJupiter, Floater), Lowest Scores: 4: (Vibe, blacksquare)

We say goodbye to the last of the 'Brave' era with 'Do It Well', released in August 2007 as the lead single which sees JLO branching out into a more disco sound, but still contains elements of hip-hop, and surprisingly mixes well together delivering a loud and sassy number with huge horns and strings pared over a funk based percussion, so yeah the song is funky and brash and hell of a lot of fun, and was a wise choice to release as the 1st single, as I doubt anything else on the album would have worked. Okay it may not be something original or fresh even back in 2007, but who cares it's an enjoyable romp, along with that weird music video that has absolutely nothing to do with the song, but was interesting to say the least. Upon release it was quite successful by reaching top 20 peaks in the UK, Switzerland, Ireland, Netherlands, Australia, Belgium & Norway, while hitting top 40 peaks in 6 other countries, including the USA where it reached a peak of #31.

15. Que Hiciste | Como Ama una Mujer | Avg.7.52

Highest Scores: 11: (Regina), 10: (Addy King, Lukuzz, SameBoy), Lowest Scores: 4: (vibe, blacksquare)

At #15 is the last of JLO's Spanish singles 'Que Hiciste' which translates in English 'What Did You Do'. Released in January 2007 as the lead single from her 5th studio album 'Como Ama una Mujer'. This marked a total surprise in JLO's career as I doubt not many people saw this coming, but yes this was a welcome surprise as she sings the lyrics with such conviction set against the Latin Rock production that's both passionate and fantastic. Originally the song was meant to be a ballad, however when the lyrics were being written it became something much harder, and thankfully delivering something quite unique. Upon release the song became a success by topping the charts in Italy, Spain and Switzerland, as well as becoming a smash on the Latin airplay charts. Elsewhere it hit top 10 in Germany & top 20 peaks in Belgium and Austria. In the USA it became her first Spanish language single to cross over to the US Top 100 peaking at #86.

14. Control Myself (Ft LL Cool J) | Todd Smith | Avg.7.677

Highest Scores: 10; (CianS, Nick F1, Tombo, StillJupiter), 9.5/9: (Jack, Addy King, Cucumberella, PAJ88, Mack, Tawdry Hepburn, ThePensmith, Jay), Lowest Scores: 2: (Rossco)

At #14 is the last of the non-album singles to feature here 'Control Myself' which was released in February 2006 and features LL Cool J and was the lead single from his 12th album 'Todd Smith', and this marks their 2nd collaboration together following 'All I Have' back in 2002. The song also features Jermaine Dupri on the spoken parts, although he is not credited, and it uses several samples from songs such as Afrika Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force's songs 'Looking For A Perfect Beat' & 'Planet Rock', as well as Grandmaster Flash's 'White Lines (Don't Do It)' on the vocals. I really like this song, the samples works really well on this and produces a fantastic beat that's just plain fun. Obviously both artists are trying catch lightning in a bottle twice and it does work really well and it's a shame they've haven't worked together again since. Upon release in the USA the song originally reached a low #89, but after getting released as a digital download a few months later it re-entered the charts #4, becoming another smash hit for both artists. In the UK it became an instant smash hit by reaching #2 matching the peak of their previous hit. Elsewhere it topped the charts in Belgium and hit top 10 in New Zealand, along with top 20 peaks in Finland, Australia & Netherlands.

I thought 'Do It Well' was more popular. I think it's one of her best, it's such a jam and I was gutted when it missed out on a top 10 placing :(

13. Let's Get Loud | On The 6 | Avg.7.822

Highest Scores: 11: (Davidson), 10: (Regina, all is vanity, Liam, SamJudd, Adelina555), Lowest Scores: 2: (Cucumberella)

At #13 is 'Let's Let Loud' which was released in June 2000 as the 4th and final single from her debut album 'On The 6'. Now this was quite a surprise, as I thought this would be a shoe-in for a top 10 placing, and started off really strongly in the scoring process, but slowed a little during the middle and didn't quite recover, but still managed a lot of high scores with an 11, 5 10's & 8 9's. The song was originally gonna be released by Gloria Estefan who was also one of the co-writers, but she passed on it due to it sounding too similar to her previous material, and so passed it on to JLO who could have more fun with it and put a different spin onto it. Often considered as one of her signature songs, 'LGL' is definitely one of my faves from her with it's assertive Latin flavour that packs a lot of energy and fun, as well as fiery passionate vocals from the amazing Jennifer Lopez herself. So yeah I would call this a definite JLO classic. Upon release it wasn't given a UK or USA release which was a shame as it could have definitely been huge in either country, but was given a release worldwide and performed very well in several countries with top 10 peaks in Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Australia & Switzerland, and top 20 peaks in Austria and Germany.
Let's Get Loud is such a Latin banger *.*

12. I'm Real (The Murder Remix) (Ft Ja Rule) | J to tha L-O The Remixes | Avg.7.923

Highest Scores: 11: (all is vanity, vibe), 10: (Rossco, gavindeejay, SameBoy), Lowest Scores: 3: (Regina)

At #12 is the last of the remix singles 'I'm Real' The Murder Remix which features Ja Rule which was released in September 2001 as the lead single from her first remix album 'J to tha L-O The Remixes', as well as featuring on the re-release of her 2nd album 'J-LO', after the massive success of the song in the USA where it topped the charts for 5 weeks. Again 2 songs with the same title but are very much different as this marked a change in sound for her by moving away from Pop/R&B to a more hip-hop sound. Again controversy arose with the use of samples, the original used 'an uncredited sample of 'Firecracker' from Yellow Magic Orchestra, which Mariah Carey was gonna use for her own single 'Loverboy'. The remix however uses 'All Night Long' by Mary Jane Girls & Rick Jame's 'Mary Jane', and all this was at the hands of Mariah's former husband who had contacted Ja Rule with instructions on how to create a song that sounded exactly like a song he's made for Mariah on her Glitter Soundtrack 'If We' which also features the rapper. Personally I think the song is okay, but much prefer the original, but seems that Buzzjack disagrees with me as that's way down at #21. While yes the remix is edgy and sexy and you can't accuse it of being a carbon copy in any way while at the same time doesn't really tread new ground as it does have that typical early 00's hip-hop sound which has now hasn't really aged very well, however the song is still worth a listen for that nostalgia feeling.

11. I'm Into You (Ft Lil' Wayne) | Love? Avg.8.161

Highest Scores: 11: (classydude), 10: (HarryEzra, vibe, Mack, Simon), Lowest Scores: 4: (Nick F1(

Just missing the top 10 by just 1 single point is 'I'm Into You' which was released in April 2011 as the 2nd single from her 7th album 'Love' and features Lil' Wayne. This did manage to maintain a top 10 position throughout most of the rate, but the #10 song managed to edge out in front at the last minute. Well I have to say that this was a perfect follow up to the ultimate comeback smash, with it's seductive sound club sound that has great chilled R&B production that has that perfect infectious sound for the summer. Upon release the song performed well by topping the charts in Greece & Lebanon, as well as top 10 peaks in Poland, Romania, Norway, UK, Austria & Brazil as well as top 20/40 peaks in 11 other countries. In the USA it was a moderate success by managing to peak at #41.

10. Dance Again (Ft Pitbull) | Dance Again...The Hits | Avg.8.193

Highest Scores: 10: (Regina, Rossco, HarryEzra, Cucumberella, Nick F1, Tombo, Simon, Adelina555, Scene, Jay), 9.5/9: (Jack, all is vanity, SamJudd, classydude, gooddelta, Mack, Lukuzz, JosephStyles),
Lowest Scores: 3: (gavindeejay)

Kicking off the top 10 by the skin of it's teeth is the fabulous 'Dance Again', which was released in April 2012 as the lead single from her first greatest hits album 'Dance Again...The Hits' and features long time collaborator and friend Pitbull, making this their 2nd released feature together. Produced by RedOne and one of the song's co-writers is another Latin superstar Enrique Igelesias who have both worked together before on 'Physical', a track from his album Sex + Love' & an unreleased song 'Mouth To Mouth'. After hearing this JLO begged the producers to record it as she felt a connection to it and called it anthem for surviving a rough divorce from Marc Anthony. It's hard not to compare this to their previous smash hit 'On The Floor' and while this may not be as strong, it's still a solid effort with a fantastic memorable chorus with a banging beat that does what it says on the tin. Upon release the song performed well by reaching #17 in the USA, higher than her last 2 singles and peaked at #11 in the UK becoming her 20th top 20 hit. Elsewhere it topped the charts in Greece + South Korea, while managing top 10 peaks in Hungary, Portugal, Bulgaria, Canada, Spain, Finland, Austria, Japan etc, while hitting top 20 peaks in Ireland, New Zealand, Germany, Switzerland, France, Netherlands & Norway.

'Dance Again' should be nowhere near that top 10. The idea that it is supposedly better than some J-Lo old school anthems like 'Let's Get Loud' and 'Ain't It Funny (Remix)' is ludicrous. It is okay and doesn't offend me but it is massively forgettable.

Thankfully it's only at 10. 'Jenny From The Block' and 'All I Have' are the only other two weak links and then I'm thrilled with the rest of the top 10.

How did this make the top 10?
