Gosh the disparity between Wannabe and the rest is so wrong -_-

But yes, for sure streaming all year. Would be good to see how it all develops since they have plans for this year. FINGERS ALL CROSSED EVERYONE 🤞🏼

That is a huge disparity but I'm more shocked with how high say you'll be there is.

Well it's their second biggest hit in the U.S. after Wannabe and their 3rd best UK seller, plus the video is iconic.

I'm surprised it's not over 100m views.

Yep. For a girlband with such iconic videos like Say You'll Be There, 2 Become 1, Stop and Spice Up Your Life, it is a bit sad how low their views are on YouTube and Spotify...

AGAIN, BLOODY SIMON WHO HATES STREAMING AND DOES NOTHING TO BETTER THIS

Whether we like it or not that’s the future now (streaming and YouTube views)

It’s just a shame that Simon/the label/management/whoever doesn’t seem to focus on this and give it more attention.

Stans seem to be more impressed by 1 billion streams than say 85 million records sold (all CDs and downloads)

As much as Simon has done really well for them, I really wish they would leave him and get a new, more modern team around them. Not some bloody dinosaur who is stuck in the 90s. I get it that it is not just up to him, but surely he could do something to pressure the record company that owns the rights? OR EVEN BUY THE DAMN RIGHTS BACK?! or find another company to manage that side of things with the group?

It is sad that the biggest girl band in the world's catalogue is so mismanaged

The biggest girl group in the world only has ONE song over 100m views on both YouTube and Spotify. Everything else is 80m or under. The fact they have a small discography should play to their advantage.

Don’t get me started on how some of their solo material is handled on YouTube 😂

I get about the solos - both Mel C and Emma dealt with various different record labels and distributors, so it is harder to get the agreements in place as it takes much longer.

There is simply no excuse about the group's catalogue though, apart from mismanagement. They have the record company in one place, the rights in one place, the music continues to sell, they have the team to do it. They just dont.

Universal Music Group probably doesn't push their catalogue on Spotify because they have no incentive to do so. They're probably okay with pushing Wannabe and that's it. UMG would probably be more inclined to promote their catalogue if the girls were more open to the idea of expanding their discography through compilation albums and anniversary editions.

This is the big problem. Universal make money from the girls catalogue with no effort why spend money on the girls music when there is nothing from the girls end to justify that investment.

Was gonna say, that's a quite a few people downloading at once surely? Has one of them been on Loose Women or something
Yeah it is part of the 'Top Albums at Great Prices' section on the home page, so that makes sense! Get them extra 10 sales girls, GO ON :cheer:
Hopefully the GH keeps at a low price from now on
It at least should make the download top 100 chart on Friday. Hopefully it might just be enough to push the GH top 200 overall too
It should always be no more than £5 it baffles me when they make it higher. ABBA’s Gold is always in the Top 100 album chart most weeks and on iTunes for 4.99
