Going to a different topic, me and spice girls net were thinking seen as Wannabe's anniversary is a Thursday and streams are estimated on that day that having a download day for Wannabe on the Thursday would be a good idea. I feel like we could get Wannabe to #1 on itunes no problem as Thursday sales are usually low. Plus hopefully whatever the girls are doing adds press and sales too.

Have streaming and YouTube views etc pushed the week leading up to the 8th then the 8th go all out downloading. There are so many copies of Wannabe on itunes and Amazon from compilations, the single, spice and GH that we could download 10 each no problem. Of we got it right and got Spice Circle involved we could flood the iTunes top 10.

Yes hoping the fans will come together for this.

If we came together more often for downloading/streaming parties it would be amazing.

*There are many fan initiatives/campaigns that I have planned for the next couple of years, regarding specific songs both for iTunes and Spotify*

Unless the girls actually do something worthwhile I'm not up for downloading Wannabe again. I've already downloaded every version of it on iTunes I could find and am a bit fed up of downloading old music just to try help them when they don't do anything themselves.

Imagine if all they do is video messages like at Christmas time lol.

Geri: "Wow, 25 years. Thank you. :) " (end of video)

:kink:

The Spice Girls sold much more, had more impact in the music business - literally changed the game - and cultural impact - literally empowered millions of women around the world and advanced Girl Power, a type of feminism.

Westlife were massive too. But they are not even close to the level of success the Spice Girls had. Westlife had more years of releasing music and touring. Good for them and I will give them that.

But Westlife also waged a war on the Spice Girls, a really sexist one, to win in the charts and vastly used the press to shit on them. For that reason, Westlife deserve to be confined to the dark spaces of the pop world forever. Hateful men.

End of.

I wonder if their sexist war had something to do with the press narrative of them flopping and why the press gunned for theit solo careers afterwards?

You'll get stuff and you'll get all 5 together. Victoria is in for this as its not performing. The 4 are still hoping it convinces her to join the tour if we ever get back to touring and dates can be announced.

The 4 would much rather being doing Glastonbury and touring but that's not happening this year so Coronavirus has become the perfect storm for Victoria to slip back in for the anniversary. If we didn't have Coronavirus you probably wouldn't have Victoria, so for people who love 5 or Posh the stars have aligned.

Wannabe up to #78 on US itunes, wonder what's causing this. Although like the UK itunes is dying in the states it's still a much bigger market so that's probably a couple of hundred sales or more this last few days.
I'm sure it might've just been featured somewhere and as you said, it just takes a lot less to chart on the iTunes top 100 these days.

It's just a bit odd it keeps climbing #73 now. Is it including in something on something on a streaming movie on something like that so it's getting a sustained push?

Can't wait till later this year when Spiceworld is finally coming to streaming services, it can only help push sales for the music via paid for sales or streams.

What the movie? Which streaming service is it going to? It used to be on Netflix but they removed it for some reason.

Apart from virtually every BlackPink song which ranges from 450-800k daily streams on Spotify, I have made a rough list of girl group songs with the most daily streams.

'Wannabe' achieved over 418,000 streams on Saturday (its daily average is usually between 300-350k) so over 400k is brilliant.

Here is a list of most streamed this weekend (Saturday streams - I've excluded BP as mentioned above and I'm sure there are no other K-pop girl groups with as many streams as them)

Sweet Melody - 448k

Wannabe - 418k

No Scrubs - 354k

Work From Home - 321k

Say My Name - 303k

Shout Out to my Ex - 295k

ALSO, Worth It by Fifth Harmony and Wannabe had a difference of around 50m only a couple of months ago and now it's around 44m. I know it's a long way to go but it's closed the gap by 6m very quickly. Wannabe may well take it over and become the 2nd most streamed girl group song of all time on the platform, after Work From Home which has over 1B streams :drink:

Last I heard we should be getting it on Netflix this summer and dvd again.
