GH reached #80 on UK iTunes today and is currently at #92

I’m hoping the Spice25 release will also mean some causal GH sales between now and Christmas

Fingers crossed, it cant hurt it

The UK Amazon positions are a bit meh for release week! :(

Would that be a case of the fact that there are so many versions? Obviously not many people can afford to buy more than one version, and they are not necessarily cheap products.

There are literally 6 different vinyls on sale at the same time, of the same album, without much new other than the cover to chose. Had they given more incentives, some fans (like myself) would probably buy more!

Also, the CD is £29  I know it is a special edition, etc, but that is not going to get many people buying it other than hardcore fans.

What they should have done was have a 1-CD version also available for like £7 like everyone else, with a new design. And maybe put some extra incentives for the individual vinyls also also, like different track lists.

Alas....

I mean, they will be fine. Most probably will be Top10 come the end of the week, and sales of the vinyls will tick over time.

I just bought a MP3 version of the original album on Amazon, but I cant really justify buying another vinyl or another physical product anymore...

:yahoo:

Every sale helps. MP3, standard album, deluxe anything :)

Yeah having basically 7 formats that are all similar in price will mean sales will be divided pretty evenly making their positions not look so good.

Richard Ashcroft who is above them in the mids has 3 formats on Amazon and 1 is an Amazon exclusive so is hoovering up the sales.

With basically 15 formats (5 individual vinyls, zoetrope, deluxe cd, 5 cassettes, downloads, streams and original cd/black and white vinyl) nothing needs to do incredible just them all do well or OK to add up to a nice total.

It’s #3 in the Sunday album chart midweek with 5,782 sales.

Only Ginger and Sporty appeared in the Top 100 vinyl's on Amazon UK yesterday

At one point today all five appeared :cheer:

According to Jack on Spice Circle it's still #3 in the midweek charts.

Spice 25 is 3k behind #2 and only 1500 ahead of #4

Fingers crossed for a Top 5 chart position on Friday

The TV advert has started airing which will help keep sales ticking over from casuals not hard-core fans.
Now that Spice has two editions (standard & deluxe), how is streaming counted for it? Which tracks are taken into account?

It's whatever the third to twelfth most streamed songs are from it! The Top 2 songs are weighted down to the average of the third to twelfth most streamed tracks (they must be Wannabe and 2 Become 1). Third to tenth will no doubt be the remaining 8 original songs from Spice, and then it's anyone's guess what the other two will be but I assume it'll be two out of Take Me Home, Feed Your Love, One of These Girls and Shall We Say Goodbye Then. Not sure how remixes/demos work when it comes to album streams... maybe the Dave Way Alternative Mix of Wannabe will be attached to normal Wannabe streams, etc.
