Spice is currently #649 on iTunes

If it's still doing on average 300 units a week in the UK, then by my estimations, it should have crossed the 3 million mark this week

If so it really deserves an article alongside Mel's achievement!!

They haven't released any music in 13 years, their streaming numbers are amazing. If they releases new music (or old unreleased) their streaming would fly up too. Their are only so many times people can listen to the same 35 songs which definitely hurts their streaming numbers.

Surely there is enough for a rarities album or re release the greatest hits with a rarities bonus cd, that would give them a good lift. If spice hasnt passed 3 million it should do very soon.

On HMV the GH is still out of stock but it's now £7.99.

Spice was £5.99 and has also risen to £7.99

Is there any reason for this? Was it because it sells well? :???:

HMV are just random with their prices. The GH CD has been out of stock on HMV for months, makes me worried it is out of print now.

Ok thanks for letting me know.

HMV seemed to be getting back on its feet with a new buyer but their online store is always out of stock for months on end.

Shame the GH is unavailable. Would be a shame if it's out of print. But I guess this is the trend moving more towards streaming :(

I doubt the GH is no longer in print. The standard edition of Melanie C has been out of stock on HMV's online store since its release!

CD sales are just so small right now in the UK that it just isn't worth printing a lot of older albums anymore. A lot of the time the UK physical album market is between 300 and 400k a week and that is CD, vinyl and cassette combined.

The GH is at #5 on iTunes in New Zealand.

Does anyone know why it's so high? :D

BECAUSE ITS FULL OF BOPS AND NEW ZEALAND IS ONE OF THE BEST COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD!!

I've literally just seen this on Kworb. Nice to see Holler getting some casual sales :)

I'm waiting until the vinyl release week to download the album and the single on various platforms

I just wondered if Melanie C had appeared on anything to promote the album or something or their music was used on TV because it's been in the Top 10 iTunes album chart in NZ for a whole week

It will be 1 or 2 sales. Itunes in NZ must be about ready to shut down it is a small music market like Ireland where 1 sale shoots an album top 20 on itunes then it disappears the next day.

Yes I can imagine it’s not many sales but I guess it’s better than nothing.

I wish their GH certifications were updated

Wannabe has reached 520m streams on Spotify. 8 weeks ago it reached 500m so it's done approximately 20 million streams in just 2 months.

I wish a few more of their singles were at least over 100 million streams.

Me too :( It’s great that Wannabe is so huge, but I wish it didn’t overshadow their other hits. 2 Become 1 only having 14% of the streams Wannabe has managed is crazy.

Speaking of 2 Become 1, this is its UK TV Airplay chart run in 2020:

55. 09/10 - #74 (37 plays)

56. 16/10 - #55 (50 plays)

57. 23/10 - #60 (45 plays)

58. 30/10 - #63 (43 plays)

59. 06/11 - #48 (63 plays)

60. 13/11 - #48 (64 plays)

(55-60 is the number of weeks spent inside the UK TV Airplay Top 100)

Music channels playing Christmas songs / Christmas #1s / Wintery songs in early October! :drama:
