Spotify listeners up to 8.3m now, the highest since the 2019 tour.

"Mama" usually does 10-13k streams a day. It did around 30-35k streams on Mother's Day in the UK back in March.

Yesterday it was played over 80k times.

"Mama" did another 30k streams on Monday which is more than double it's daily average. Nice to know it'll get a boost every March and May when Mother's Day is celebrated.

Also in January 2021, "Wannabe" and Fifth Harmony's "Worth It" had a gap of 50 million streams and now it's 35m so the gap is closing. Fingers crossed with the big 25th anniversary this should be the second most streamed girl group song on Spotify.

Spice Girls YouTube Channel has reached 900k subscribers. Coming for that 1m (which will make it look better)

The channel will also be reaching a combined 1 billion views this year too :cheer:

I'm not even subscribed to their channel... oops lol!

You're fired! :coffee:

Monthly Spotify listeners now up to 8.5 million

As of today Wannabe is over 580m and Stop is 96m which means in exactly two months time (mid July) Wannabe will get to 600m and Stop will finally get to 100m 😊

Will be great for another song to finally exceed 100m. A lot of the singles really don’t deserve to be soooo far behind Wannabe’s stream count. :(

Absolutely.

If streaming had existed their streams would have exceeded Drake and Ed and all the other artists in the charts but I’m so proud of how much they sold in the physical era

Me too! So many sales considering each single only really had weeks or a few months to sell the bulk of the copies before they'd disappear off the shelves. It's why I take things like this list: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=245633 with a pinch of salt

It is interesting to see The Beatles, Oasis, Queen and Fleetwood Mac on the list though.

Yeah those lists are false equivalents and take no account with context/times. It's the same as when the last Avengers movie claimed to be 'the most profitable' or ' biggest movie ever' when in fact, it wasnt even Top5 when you account for inflation

It's all marketing crap...

Having said that, it is beyond criminal that Spice Up Your Life, Say You'll Be There, 2 Become 1, Viva Forever and Holler are all so far from 100million streams. These are iconic songs and deserve more respect

The Spotify listeners is up another 32k on yesterday, anyone got any idea where they peaked with monthly listeners in 2019?

I think it was 8.8 or 8.9m during 2019. I don't think they've reached 9 million before.

I don't have an answer for this, but if of interest, here's how their monthly listeners have gone since November 2020, with each day's #500 artist for comparison (I've been personally tracking the top 500 since then):

Their rank is probably around #605-610 at the moment (I have them at #604, but I may be missing a couple non-top 500 artists above them).
